Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmeshebfier, Morden, Lamm, City Attorney Miller and ROLL CALL City Clerk. Absent: None. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of the regular meeting of January 79 the adjourned meeting of January 14 and the regular meeting of January 21, 1946. The Mayor asked if MINUTES APPROVED there were any objections or corrections to said ' minutes. There being none, the minutes of January 7th, 14th, and 21, 1946 were approved as written. Mr. J. D. Smith representing Smith Greater Shows addressed Council requesting permission to operate a MR. S;:"_ITH ADDPESSED Street Carnival. COUNCII, Council advised Mr. Smith to contact the American Legion relative to this matter. Mr. I:arold R. Wilson offered a map of Tract 13,824 for approval. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer, subject to the provisions of a contract drawn by the City Engineer relating,to the map of MAP OF TRACT E0. Tract No. 13,824 the City Treasurer, City Engineer and 17,824 approved. City Clerk be authorized to sign said map on behalf of the City of Azusa. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. Map of Tract No. 13,810 together with a recommendation of the City Planning Commission, was presented to Council. MAP OF TRACT NO. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman 1:I,SlO TABLFD ' Memmesheimer and unanimously agreed this matter be tabled. The Clerk announced that four bids had been received In answer to Notice Calling for Bids on annual supply of gasoline. City Clerk announced that two bids had been received in answer to Notice Calling for Bids on the Purchase of a used Tractor. 324 CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, MONDAY, FEBRUARY 41 1946 Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Owens and duly carried the Bids be now opened, examined and publicly declared: W. HORAN 1 - Tractor 300.00 SAM'S AUTO PARTS AND WRECKING COMPANY 1 - Tractor $347.50 ' Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council- man 11orden Council accept the Bid of Sam's Auto Parts and the Clerk be instructed to return to Mr. Horan the Check submitted with his bid. A request to convert a garage into a Ceramic 4:lanufac- turing;_Plant located in the rear of the Arcade Build- ing was offered by A. L. Suman. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council- man Jumper this request be granted. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. Mr. Carl Richter requested the improvement of Cerritos 7:30 P.M.325- BID OF SAM,"S AUTO PARTS ACCEPTED CERAMIC MA1\TIiFAC- TU9ING PLANT IN REAR OF ARCADE BLDG. Avenue from Foothill Boulevard to Fifth Street. C. A. RICITR RE - Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman QUESTED IMPROVE - Owens this matter be referred to the City Engineer and MENT OF CERRITOS Street Superintendent. AVE:. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Hemmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. Mr. Hoffman of #437 San Gabriel Avenue requested an elm tree be planted in the parkway in front of his home. It was unanimously agreed the Street Superintendent. this matter be referred to Mrs. G. A. Millar offered a written Protest against the trucks owned by the Azusa Rock and Sand Company traveling on Paramount Avenue raising a cloud of dust. It was unanimously agreed this mmtter be referred to the City Attorney to report back. A recommendation of the Planning Commission relative to the resubdivision of Lots 4-5-6-7 Tract #6604, was read. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Mersmesheimer this recommendation together with a request offered by George M. Koch to change the frontage of the said lots from 75' to 60' be referred to the Planning Commission for further consideration and report. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Junper, Memmesheimer, I.1orden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. Mr. Smith again addressed Council relative to a Street Carnival. No action taken in this matter. A communication from the Planning Commission recommending Council grant a variance on Lots 17-18- 19-20 and 21 in Block 19 also a 50' strip of land adjoining the A. T. and S. F. R. R. right-of-way from Alameda to Dalton Avenues from a S -C to an 14-1 Zone, was read. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman I,1emmesheimer this variance be granted provided there are no fumes or obnoxious oders. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. HIR. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council- man Morden this Resolution be adopted as read and RESOLUTION NO. numbered Resolution Number 1970. 1070 ADOPTED Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. Clifford 11. Tolle offered his resignation as a Patrolman in the Police Department. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Morden this resignation be accepted. ACCEPTED Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer the City Clerk be instructed to advise Mr. Bender, special Attorney, to prepare a list of seventeen lots for sale, selling the City Tax Deed only; to readvertise for sale Lot 15, Block J, Azusa P1R• RENDER TO Heights Tract and to prepare for sale the remainder PREPARE FOR SAT, of the tax deeded property, after securing the County TAX DEEDED Deed. Hynes, Cler The Finance Committee reported that they recommend the acceptance of the Standard Oil Company bid for the annual supply of gasoline which, upon analysis, appears to be the best and lowest responsible bid having in mind service, delivery, quantity and quality. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Owens Council accept the recommendation of the Finance Committee.
