The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper,
Memmesheimer, Lamm, City Attorney Miller and City
Clerk. Absent: Councilman Morden.
Each member present acknowledged receipt of a
written copy of the minutes of March 18, 1946.
The Mayor asked if there were any objections or
corrections to said minutes. There being none,
the minutes of March 18, 1946 were approved as
written.
' A letter from the Planning Commission recommend-
ing that Mr. Dandy be granted permission to
convert a garage into living quarters, was read.
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by
Councilman Owens, Council accept the recommenda-
tion of the Planning Commission.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer,
Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Morden.
A letter from the Planning Commission recommend-
ing Mr. R. E. Houch be granted permission to
onerate a Real Estate Office in his home at
425 E. Foothill Boulevard, was read.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Memmesheimer the recommendation of the
Planning Commission be accepted.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer,
Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Morden.
A letter from the Planning Commission was
offered recommending Mrs. Netzley's request to
operate a nursery at #146 South Azusa Avenue
be granted.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Owens the recommendation of the Planning
Commission be accepted.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer,
Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Morden.
A letter from the Planning Commission advising
Council that Katherine Chichester Bosworth
requested a variance for the erection of a
bungalo court at the South East corner of Sixth
Street and Soldano Avenue, was read.
Council agreed no action necessary in this
matter until Mrs. Bosworth files a blue print
of the proposed court.
A request for use of City Auditorium filed by
H. E. Stevens, Jr. was read and ordered
placed on file.
A notice of annual meeting df the San Gabriel
Valley Protective Association was read and
ordered placed on file.
' The Clerk announced that two bids had been
received in answer to Notice Calling for bids
on the sale of scrap metal.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Owens the Bids be now opened, examined and
publicly declared.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by
Councilman Jumper the City accept the offer of
Sam's Auto Parts and Wrecking to purchase the
scrap metal from the City Light Department.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Morden.
The Clerk announced one bid had been received
in answer to Notice Calling for Bids for the
purchase of an Air Compressor.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Owens the bids be opened, examined and
publicly declared:

Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Council-
man Memmesheimer this Bid be referred to Council-

Councilman Jumper offered a Resolution entitled:

THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK OF SAID CITY TO
EXECUTE AGREEMENT OF SAID CITY AND THE BOARD
OF SUPERVISORS, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, FOR PURCHASE,
OF THE STATE'S INTEREST IN TAX DEEDED PROPERTY.

Councilman Owens this Resolution be adopted as
read and numbered Resolution Number 1975.

The City Clerk stated that bids for the
Purchase of City owned property had been receiv-
ed. It was moved by Councilman Memmesheimer,
seconded by Councilman Jumper and duly carried
the sealed'bids be opened and publicly declared.
There upon the City Clerk opened the bids and
the same were read by John F. Bender, Special
Attorney as follows:
