man Jumper and duly carried Council proceed to canvass
the Absentee Ballots.

man Jumper, Council proceed to canvass the returns of
the General Municipal Election held April 9, 1946.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

The City Council then proceeded to publicly examine
and canvass the said returns and upon completion of
said canvass by said Council, it appears that the
whole number of votes cast at said election was e65;
that the names of the persons voted for, the offices
for which they were voted, and the number of votes
given in Consolidated Precinct "A" and Consolidated
Precinct "B" to each of said persons together with
the whole number of votes which they received in the

OF TILE OFFICIAL COUNT AND CANVASS OF TTIE VOTERS AT
THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON
APRIL 9, 1946.

RESOLUTION NO. 1986
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA,
DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE OFFICIAL COUNT
AND CANVASS OF THE VOTERS AT THE GENERAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION IIELD IN SAID CITY ON APRIL
9, 1946.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows:
' WHEREAS a general Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of
Azusa, Los Angeles County, State of California, on Tuesday, the 9th day of
April, 1946 as required by law, and
WHEREAS it appears that Notice of said Election was duly and legally given
and that there were two voting Precincts established for said Election
consisting of Consolidatidnoof regular City Precincts for holding State and
County Elections as the same were and are established by the Board of
Supervisors of Los Angeles County, California; that election officials were
appointed and election was held and conducted and the returns thereof made
and declared in time, form and manner as required by the General Laws of
the State of California governing elections in cities of the fifth and
sixth classes; and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Azusa met at the Council Chambers
of said Council on Tuesday the 16th day of April, 1946, to canvass the
returns of said election and install the newly elected officers. Whereupon
the said Council found that the number of votes cast, the names of the
persons voted for, the result of said election and other matters reouired
by law, to be as hereinafter stated.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AND DECLARED as -follows:,=,'"„
That said regular Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of
' Azusa, California, on Tuesday the 9th day of April, 1946, in the time,
form and manner as required by law.
That there were two voting precincts established for the purpose of holding
said election consisting of consolidation of the regular Election Precincts
established for holding General State and County Elections.
That the whole number of votes cast in said City of Azusa At said election
was 865.
That the names of the persons voted for, the offices for which they were
voted and the :lumber of votes which were received in the entire City of
Azusa are as follows:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk spall immediately make and
deliver to each of said persons so elected a Certificate of Election signed
by her and duly authenticated; that she shall also impose, or have imposed,
the constitutional oath of office upon said persons so elected as Members
of the City Council and shall have them subscribe thereto and file the same
In her office; thereupon, each and all of said persons so elected to said
respective offices shall be inducted in said respective office to which
they have been elected.

Mayor Lamm appointed Victor A. Owens a member of the
City PlAnning Commission to fill the vacancy caused

Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman
Jumper Council accept the recommendation of the
Planning Commission.

Mr. Henry Kinslow addressed Council relative to
leasing the old Fire Hall.
No action taken in this matter.
' Mr. Roberts addressed Council requesting permission
to purchase plaster board now stored in old Fire
Hall.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman
Memmesheimer this matter be referred to the chair-
man of Public Works and Street Superintendent with
power to act.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

Mr. Earl Jones addressed Council in support of his
written claim for damages against the City for
repairs to his car damaged by water in attempting
to cross the Little Dalton Wash on First Street.
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by
Councilman Malone the City Attorney be directed
to write the Los Angeles County Flood Control
Engineer enclosing a copy of Mr. Jones' claim for
damages and requesting him to notify the Azusa
City Council the action taken by the Los Angeles
County Flood Control District in this matter. It
was also suggested that Mr. Tscharner send a
copy of his letter to Supervisor William Smith.

A tentative map of Subdivision No. 14069 was
Presented to Council with a recommendation from the
Planning Commission that it be approved with
minor changes suggested by the City Engineer.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Memmesheimer that Council accept the
tentative map of Subdivision No. 14069 and refer
same to the City Engineer for checking and report.

It was unanimously agreed the City Clerk be authorized
and instructed to write Mr. Simovich that there are
no set back lines established on either Twelfth Street
of San Gabriel Avenue and, at the present time, no
plans on file for the extension of either street.
A letter signed by Mr. H. A. Gerrard representing
Alpha Beta Food Markets, Inc., relative to vacant lots
withheld from previous tax sale, was read,:
The City Clerk was instructed to advise Mr. Gerrard
the lots were being held to provide free parking
' space for the shopping public.
A letter, from Ernest R. Geddes, Assemblyman 49th
District of California, relative to Assembly Bill
No. 60 was offered and referred to City Engineer
Kressly.
The Grant Deed offering an easement to the City of
Azusa for utility purposes, by Victor A. & Martha
Owens, was presented.
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council-
man Jumper this matter be referred to the City
Engineer to report back.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

Councilman Memmesheimer offered a Resolution entitled:
