The Mayor asked if there were any objections or

corrections to said minutes. There beim none,
the minutes of April 15, 1946 were approved as
written.

The City Clerk stated that bids for the ;purchase
of City owned property had been received, follow-

ing which it was moved by Councilman Jumper,
seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer, and carried
that the bids be opened and publicly declared.

Memmesheimer this Resolution be adopted as read and
numbered Resolution No. 1988.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

Said John F. Bender asked for oral bids from any person
desiring to bid upon each of said remaining parcels of
property and each and all of said bids, either written

Avenue, Azusa with electric service under the terms EDISON CO. TO
of the contract existing between the City of Azusa SERVE G.A. MILLAR
and Edison Company, was read.

Jumper this request be granted.

Mrs. Viola Gilliam, Secretary for the Rod and Gun ROD AND GUN CLUB
Club, requested use of the Auditorium on May 28, 1946. GRANTED PERMISSION
It was unanimously agreed that this request be granted. TO USE AUDITORIUM
Mr. Amner Gary, Assistant Editor of the American City
Magazine requested a story and pictures of the new
Fire Hall. AMERICAN CITY
It was unanimously agreed that Mr. Smith be requested REQUESTED PHOTOS
to make the necessary number of pictures for this project. OF FIRE HALL
Mr. Edson Rorabeck presented a request sup.iorted by the
signatures of seven property owners residing on or near
Crescent Drive that trees be planted along this street. REQUEST FOR SHADE
It was agreed that City Clerk write Mr. Rorabeck advising TREES PRESENTED
him that Chinese elms will be planted in January of
1947 as the trees cannot be planted successfully in
any other month.
The resignation of Elouise Ott was read. ELOUISE OTT'S '
Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman RESIGNATION

regret.
A Claim, made by the Pacific Electric Company,
before the Railroad Commission, was presented.

Monument at the intersection of Azusa Avenue and LETTER FROM S. V.

The City Planning Commission presented the request
' of Omart Investment Co., Ltd. for a variance

13,790 from an 1.1-1 zone to a M-2 zone with the
recommendation that same be granted.
Councilman Jumper offered a resolution entitled:

City Engineer Kressly reported on matter of refund
to Mr. Pon of $,950.00 deposited with the City for
the improvement on an alley and a portion of
Paramount Avenue, stating that the City should

REQUEST
It was agreed that Mr. Kressly secure Mr. Pon's .
permission to do this.
The City Planning Commission recommended to Council
they re -consider the matter of the reduction in
size of Lots 4-5-6 & 7 in Tract no. 6604 from a
75+ frontage to a 60t frontage. The owner, Mr.
Koch deposited a $10.00 filing fee for permission
REDUCTION IN SIZE
to make this change. At a former meeting of Coucnil

Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman
Jumper, the recommendation of the City Planning
Commission relative to Lots 4-5-6 & 7 in Tract No.
6604 be disapproved for the reason that as a matter
of law the Petition is not within•the jurisdiction
of the City Council and that the Clerk be instructed
to return to the petitioner the sum of ten dollars
heretofore paid on a previous petiton and to return
the ten dollars accompanying the petition for
reconsideration.
