T he'City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the
above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone,
Lamm, City Attorney Tscharner and City Clerk. Absent: None.
Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes
of May 6, 1946. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or
corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of May 6, 1946
were approved as written.
Councilman Malone offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES
COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING A ZONE VARIANCE FROM AN R-1 ZOITE TO AN
M-1 ZONF.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer this
resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1996.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None.
Absent: None.
A communication from the Secretary of the Planning Commission relative
to the purchase of six acres of land adjoining the present school
property located in the southwest portion of the city, was read.
No action taken in this matter.
A letter of commendation from Michael C. Healy, pastor of St. Frances
Church relative to the splendid cooperation offered the members of
his church by the police department, was read and ordered placed on file.

The Easement, offered by Martha and Victor Owens just west of their
property on OrangeAvenue, was presented and no further action taken.
The Clerk announced that one bid had been received for the purchase of
city owned property.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman Ifemmesheimer and
carried that the bid be opened and publicly declared.

Council reject this bid as it is approximately 500 of the price set
on this lot and instruct the City Clerk to return the check which
accompanied the bid.

' Fred C. Kraft offered a written request for permission to withdraw
his bid on Lot 9 Block 39 in -the amount of 250.00 and the return of
his check in the amount of .$62.50 submitted with the bid.
It was unanimously agreed this matter be referred to the Special
Attorney, Mr. John F. Bender.
The matter of re -writing the City ordinance governing the control of
dogs was discussed and referred to the City Attorney and Councilman
Jumper for further study.

Councilman Malone offered a resolution entitled: �

THE SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS OF THE CITY OF 1997 ADOPTED

INTERSECTION OF AZUSA AVENUE AND FOOTHILL
BOULEVARD.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-

Councilman Memmesheimer offered a resolution

BOULEVARD STOP SIGNS ON FOOTHILL BOULEVARD AT
BOTH SIDES OF AZUSA A"ENUE IN SAID CITY. RESOLUTION NO.
1998 ADOPTED

man Malone the Superintendent of Streets of PARKING CARS 0*'
the City of Azusa is hereby instructed to change FOOTHILL BLVD.
