Present at roll call: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm, City Attorney Tscharner and City Clerk. Absent: None. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of May 6, 1946. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of May 6, 1946 were approved as written. Councilman Malone offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING A ZONE VARIANCE FROM AN R-1 ZOITE TO AN M-1 ZONF. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1996. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. A communication from the Secretary of the Planning Commission relative to the purchase of six acres of land adjoining the present school property located in the southwest portion of the city, was read. No action taken in this matter. A letter of commendation from Michael C. Healy, pastor of St. Frances Church relative to the splendid cooperation offered the members of his church by the police department, was read and ordered placed on file. ' The Azusa City Planning Commission offered a recommendation that Ben. J. Commission vias and Pearl H. Cohn and Robert S. and Florence B. Woods be granted a ' variance from an R-1 zone to an 1.4-1 zone on property owned by them and described as a portion of Lot 51 of Sub. #2 Azusa Land r. Water Co. Councilman Malone offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING A ZONE VARIANCE FROM AN R-1 ZOITE TO AN M-1 ZONF. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1996. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. The Easement, offered by Martha and Victor Owens just west of their property on OrangeAvenue, was presented and no further action taken. The Clerk announced that one bid had been received for the purchase of city owned property. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman Ifemmesheimer and carried that the bid be opened and publicly declared. NAI.1E OF P IDDER LOT BLOCK TRACT AMOUNT OF BID John R. Huls 18 H Azusa Heights $310.72 Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman Malone, Council reject this bid as it is approximately 500 of the price set on this lot and instruct the City Clerk to return the check which accompanied the bid. Carried by the following vote of the Council: .oyes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: "done. Absent: None. ' Fred C. Kraft offered a written request for permission to withdraw his bid on Lot 9 Block 39 in -the amount of 250.00 and the return of his check in the amount of .$62.50 submitted with the bid. It was unanimously agreed this matter be referred to the Special Attorney, Mr. John F. Bender. THE SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS OF THE CITY OF 1997 ADOPTED AZUSA TO REMOVE THE MONUMENT LOCATED IN THE INTERSECTION OF AZUSA AVENUE AND FOOTHILL BOULEVARD. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Memmeshe`_mer this resolutior be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No: 1997. Councilman Memmesheimer offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ESTABLISFING BOULEVARD STOP SIGNS ON FOOTHILL BOULEVARD AT BOTH SIDES OF AZUSA A"ENUE IN SAID CITY. RESOLUTION NO. 1998 ADOPTED Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Malone this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1998. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Malone the Superintendent of Streets of PARKING CARS 0*' the City of Azusa is hereby instructed to change FOOTHILL BLVD. the markings for parking cars along Foothill Boulevard from the angle parking to parallel parking commencing twenty feet from each property line of the intersecdng street. The matter of drawing; an ordinance regulating LI,nTING FIXTTTRES the sale of electrical fixtures was discussed and referred to the City Attorney and Super- intendent of Light Department to report back. The matter of re -writing the ordinances now RE -WRITE ORDINANCE effect regulating and controlling electric 0_. ELECTRIC SERVICE service was referred to the City Attorney and Superintendent of Light Department to report back. Councilman Jumper offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF S"_E C'TY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, C!T IFORNIA APPOINTING RESOTdJTION NO. FRANK S. WI?ITE LINEMAN IN THE LIGHT DEPARTMENT 1999 ADOPTED AND FIXING EIS SALARY. Moved by Councilman Nasser, seconded by Council- man Malone this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1999.
