MONDAY, JUNE 3, 1946. 7:30 P.M. 3ll�� The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, ROLL CALL Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm, City Attorney Tscharner and City Clerk. Absent: None. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of May 200 1946. The Mayor asked if there were any objections MINUTES APPROVED or corrections to said minutes. There being none the minutes of May 20, 1946 were approved as written. ' The tentative map of Tract'- No. 14072 was of- fered by the Subdivider, Omart Investment Co. Councilman Memmesheimer offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, RESOLUTION NO. APPROVING MAP OF SUBDIVISION NO. 14072. 2000 ADOPTED Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman Jumper this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 2000. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. The matter of leasing the old Fire Hall was discussed with no further action taken. A request to remove the barrier at the south end of Dalton Avenue, which cuts off the Southern portion of First Street, offered by MR. A. M. RULOFSON' Mr. A. M. Rulofson, was read. Moved by REQUEST REFERRED Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman TO CITY ATTORNEY Memmesheimer this request be referred to the 'City Engineer to report back. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: 3lasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. A letter of appreciation, signed by the Mayor LETTER FROM MAYOR of the City of Glendora was read and ordered Placed on file. OF GL'ENDORA ORDERED PLACED ON FILE A tentative map of Tract No. 14068 presented by the Subdivider, Mr. J. M. Pon, was consider- ed by Council. Councilman Malone offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TITE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA APPROVING RESOLUTION NO. MAP, OF SUBDIVISION TRACT NO. 14068. 2001 ADOPTED Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman Jumper this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 2001. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. 1 A letter from Richard Graves, Executive Secretary for the League of California Cities relative to the Annual Conference of the League to be held in NOTICE FROM LEAGUE the City of San Diego on September I6-19, was ON CONFERENCE read and ordered placed on file. The annual contract, with the Los Angeles County Health Department was offered. Moved by Council- man Malone, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer, the Mayor be authorized and instructed to sign ANNUAL CONTRACT this contract and the City Clerk attest the s ame. Absent: None. 394 CITY RKLL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. MONDAY, JUNE 39 1946. A notice of Hearing of the Pacific Railroad Company before the Railroad Commission on June 13, 1946 at 10:00 A.M., was read and referred to the City Attorney. An Agreement between the County of Los Angeles and the City of Azusa relative to the Smog Condition in this area, was presented. It was unanimously agreed this matter be referred to the City Attorney to report back at the next regular meeting of Council. The matter of refund to Fred C. Kraft of $62.50 deposited with bid on Lot 9, Block 39, was dis- cussed and no further action taken. A letter from Samuel Sebskman, Attorney for Mrs. Joanne Cummings Prough requesting Council to re- consider Mrs Proughts claim relative to Lot 10 Block 63 and Lot No. 14 of the Pasadena Tract, was read. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Memmesheimer, Special Attorney John F. Bender be instructed to bring action to quiet title in the case of the above mentioned lots. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. The Los Angeles County Plan for Disaster Relief was presented. It was unanimously agreed the City Clerk contact Supervisor Ray Darby and re- quest him to send out some one who is qualified to address Council on this subject. Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer the establishment of an alley on City property just west of Orange Avenue and ncr th of 11th Street be referred to the City Engineer, with instructions that the alley be designed to follow straight boundry linea. Mayor Lamm reported on a meeting held in the City of Covina for the purpose of outlining a plan whereby surplps water from disposal plants could be disposed of. 'Mayor Lamm appointed G. Jack Williams and George Stanley Detwiler volunteer firemen in the Azusa Fire Department. Moved by Council an Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman Jumper the action of the Mayor be approved by Council. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman Memmesheimer offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ACCEPTING A GRANT DEED FROM FLORENCE SHIPLEY MAGEE DATED DECEMBER 110 1945 AND AUTHORIZING THE SAME TO BE RECORDED. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman Nasser this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 2002. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None.
