CITY -HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, MONDAY, JULY 15; 1946, 7:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper,
Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm, City Attorney Tachar_ner
and City Clerk. Absent: None. Roll Call
Each member present acknowledged receipt of a
written copy of the minutes of July 1, 1946,
The Mayor asked if there were any objections or MINUTES APPROVED
corrections to said minutes. There being none,
the minutes of July 1, 1946, were approved as
'written.
Mr. Stewart A. MacAlpine of the Lumber and Builders
Supply addressed council relative to a location MR. MACALPINE
for outside storage for lumber. No action taken ADDRESSED COUNCIL
in -this matter.
Mr. Williams of the Williams Neon Sign Company
addressed Council relative to the proper protection
for the neon sign located at the intersection of
NEON SIGN ON CORNER
Azusa Avenue and Garvey Boulevard.

This matter to be taken up at a later date.

A communication from Earl Messer requesting per-
mission to redeem property on the tax deeded list,
was read.

The matter of delinquent unsecured personal property
'tax on the property of the Claydon Manufacturing CLAYDON MFG. CO.
Company was referred to the City Attorney for DELINQUENT TAX
collection. REFERRED TO CITY
ATTORNEY
A letter signed by Edgar E. Lampton, Director of
Department of Motor Vehicles relative.to the
establishment of a Bureau of Accident Prevention
within the Department, was read and ordered placed ACCIDENT PREVENTION
on -file, BUREAU
A letter from V. A. Owens relative to the proposed
opening of an alley from Eleventh Street northerly
to Twelfth Street accross city property, was read.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman V. A. OWENS EASE-
Memmesheimer the City Clerk be instructed to MENT IN REAR OF
advertise this parcel of land for sale, the City PROPERTY ON ORANGE
Engineer and City Attorney to work out the necessary AVENUE
details.

Mr. P. J. Unruh petitioned the City Planning
Commission and the City Council for a variance
for the construction, maintenance and operation MR. UNRUH'S
of three duplex houses fronting on Sixth Street, PETITION GRANTED
The Planning Commission recommended that the variance
be granted.
Councilman Nasser offered a Resolution entitled:

Mr. H. G. Sherry petitioned the Qity Planning
Commission and the City Council for a zone variance
for the construction, maintenance and operation of MR. SHERRY'S PETITION
an auto court on the north side of Foothill Boule- REFERRED BACK TO
vakd between Pasadena Avenue and the East City Limits. PLANNING COMMISSION '
The Planning Commission advised council they could not
take action in this matter due to the fact that Mr.
Sherry did not file a "No Objection Petition".signed
by all property owners -within 300 feet of the property
to be improved.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman
Memmesheimer Council refer Mr. Sherry's petition to
the Planning Commission with instructions to notify
him of their action.

Mr, Joseph W. Charlton requested a zone variance from
an R+1 to an R-2 zone on the following described
property: Lots 25 to 36 Inc. in Block 43, City of J. W. CHARLTON'S
Azusa. Moved by Councilman Nasser, seconded by Council- PETITION REFERRED
man Jumper this request be referred back to the Planning TO PLANNING COMMISSION
Commission for correction. FOR CORRECTION

CITY OF AZUSA FOR SUPPLYING WATER AND INSTALLING WATER
SERVICE CONNECTIONS: PROVIDING RULES AND REGULATIONS ADOPTED
FOR THE USE OF WATER SUPPLIED: PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR
THE VIOLATION"OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDIANCE, AND
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN-
CONSISTENT THEREWITH.

regulator, meter, etc., on city owned property. ON REGULATOR
No action taken in this matter.
