The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper,
Memmesheimer, Melons, Lamm, City Attorney Miller
and City Clerk. Absent: None.
Each member present acknowledged receipt of a
written copy of the minutes of August 19, 1946.
The Mayor asked if there were any objections or
corrections to said minutes. There being none,
the minutes of August 19, 1946, were approved
as written.
' Tony Aguilar, John Poetker, Hugh Gerharz and Mr.
Woodward appeared before Council requesting aid
in the construction, location, etc. of a Race
Track for Model Auto Racing.
It was agreed that this matter would be taken up
with the City Engineer at a later date.
Lor. H. G. Sherry requested a zone variance on
property described as a portion of Lots 10-11-12
Block 84, City of Azusa, from an R'=1 to an R-4
zone, together with the signatures of 15 property
owners within 300 feet of the property, who do
not object to the granting of this variance.
The Planning Commission did not recommend a
variance in this case due to the fact that the
property owners on the East did not sign the
"no objection petition."
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Nasser, that Mr. Sherry's request for a
zone variance from an R-1 zone to an R-4 zone
be granted on property described as the North
100 feet of the West 151.66 feet and West 125
feet of the East 263 1/3 feet of Lot 10; the
West 125 feet of the East 263 1/3 feet of Lot
11 -and West 125 feet of the East 263 1/3 feet
of Lot 12 all in Block 84, City of Azusa, with
the following provisions: the buildings be laid
out according to Plot Plan and the erection of
same to conform, and grounds to be beautified,
all in accordance with plans on file in the
City Clerk's office and the office of the build-
ing inspector.

Malone, Lamm.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Mr. Louis Zatinsky.requested permission -to
extend the wrecking yard located on the south
side of Foothill Boulevard approximately 100
feet; the property described as a portion of
Lot 54 of Subdivision No. 2, Azusa Land and
Water Company. The Planning Commission recommend-
ed this request be granted provided Mr. Zatinsky
agree to erect a tight masonary fence, also
agree to place all wrecked card on the south
side of the fence so that traveling public can-
not observe the wreckage in the enclosure from
any angle.
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by
Councilmen Malone, the recommendation of the
Planning Commission be accepted.

A tentative Map of Tract No. 14336 was submitted
for approval.

Mr. Miranda requested permission to paint street
names and numbers on the curbs.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman
Memmesheimer, this matter be referred to the Chair-
man of Public Works with power to act.

Mr. C. A. Winterton, of 934 Soldano Avenue, re-
quested the removal of two trees located in the
parkway in front of his home.
Moved and carried this matter be referred to the
Chairman of Public Works with power to act.
Five suggestions for the improvement of the City
were offered by the Civic Committee.
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by
Councilman Jumper, this matter be referred to the
proper heads of departments, with power to act.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

Malone, Lamm.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Mr. Jurnigan requested permission to purchase
Lot 9, Block 39, City of Azusa. No action taken
in this matter.
Councilman Malone offered an Ordinance entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA AME11DING SECTION I OF ORDINANCE NO. 374,
ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF AZUSA PROHIBITING VEHICLES TO PE TURNED
SO AS TO PROCEED IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION, AT THE
INTERSECTION OF AZUSA AVENUE AND FOOTHILL BOULEVARD
IN SAID CITY, AND PRESCRIBING PENALTY THEREFOR"
DULY PASSED ON THE 21st DAY OF JUNE 1943 AND DULY
APPROVED ON THE 21st DAY OF JUNE 1943 AND ADDING A
NEW SECTION THERETO TO BE KNOWN AS SECTION 112 -
to be placed upon its second reading.

ing of this ordinance.
