Mr. Abdelnour and Mr. Kilmur bid orally on the purchase of the fire hall. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Malone, Council accept the bid of Nicholas SALE OF OLD FIRE and Margaret Abdelnour in the amount of $11,500. HALL Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Council- man Memmesheimer, the City Attorney be directed to prepare the ordinance required in order to ' deliver to Nicholas and Margaret Abdelnour said property under the terms and conditions of the "Notice of Sale." Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. Mrs. Eleanor A. Warren requested a variance on REQUEST FOR A Lot 48 of Tract No. 7625. No action taken in VARIANCE this matter as such a request should be presented by the Planning Commission. Mr. Snyder and Mr. Snipper offered to purchase City property described as a portion of Lot 68 of Subdivision No.' 2, Azusa Land and Water Company. BID TO PURCHASE No action taken on this bid. CITY OWNED PROPERTY Councilman Jumper offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE AND ERECTION OF A QUONSET HUT. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by RESOLUTION NO. 2031 ' Councilman Nasser, this resolution be adopted as ADOPTED read and numbered Resolution No. 2031. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. _Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer, the Clerk be authorized and instruct- CITY CLERK TO AD - ed to advertise for bids on an elevated water tank - VERTISE FOR BIDS and appurtenances, bids to be opened on October 21, ON WATER TANK 1946. City Engineer Kressly reported on the Revised Tentative Map of Tract No. 14472. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman MAP OF TRACT NO. Malone, Council approve the "Revised Tentative Map 14472 APPROVED of Tract No. 14472 conditioned upon the recommend- ation of the City Engineer and the requirements outlined in his report to Council be fulfilled. Company relative to the in- stallation of two flashing light signals at the crossing of Azusa Avenue in the City of Azusa to- gether with City Engineer Kressly's recommendation that this be done, was read. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council- man Malone, the recommendation of the City Engineer be accepted and the removal of one light pole and five palm trees be authorized. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. A request to exhibit war material display offered by Irving W. Parker, Public Relations Officer of the American Veterans of World War II was read. Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman Nasser, this matter be referred to the Chief of Police, with power to act. The Clerk announced that no bids had been received In answer to Notice calling for bids on a two ton truck for use in the Light and Water Departments. Mr. George Smith requested a refund of $25.00 paid to city employees for the removal of a pepper tree. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council- man Jumper, and duly carried, this matter be referred to Councilman Malone. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF,AZUSA ADOPTING BUDGET SET FORTH IN PROJECT -STATEMENT TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF 1/4 CENT GAS TAIL ON STREETS OF MAJOR IMPORTANCE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30,1947, WITHIN THE CITY OF AZUSA.
