The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm, City Attorney Miller ROLL CALL and City Clerk, Absent: None. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of the regular meeting of September 16th and the adjourned session of September 23,1946. The Mayor asked if there were 'any objections or corrections -to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of September 16th and the adjourned session of September 23, 1946, were approved as written. A communication from John M. Pon -relative to the paving of an alley west of Azusa Avenue and north of Paramount Avenue in which he requests permis- sion to pay $525.00 with the understanding that the City do the work, was read. Moved by Council- man Malone, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer, this matter be referred to the City Engineer to report back. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. A communication from Mr. John M. Pon requesting information relative to the City policy on annexa- tion of adjacent territory, was read. Moved and carried the City Clerk be instructed to write Mr. Pon advising him the Council does not 'feel they can commit themselves on something that may come before them for legislative action. Fred G. and Dorothy F. Humeston granted the City an easement for public purposes over the northerly 5 feet of Lot No. 55 of Subdivision No. 2 Azusa Land and Water Company. Councilman Malone offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUniTY, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING AN EASEMENT FROM FRED G. AND DOROTHY F. HUMESTON AND ORDERING SANE TO BE RECORDED. Moved by Councilman Jumper; seconded by Councilman Nasser, this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 2036. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer,- Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA,, RESCINDING 'AND NULLIFYING RESOLUTION N0. 2031. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman- Memmesheimer, this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 2037. Carried by the following -vote of the Council:. Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser,-Jumper,-Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. - Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer, the City Clerk be authorized and instructed to advertise for bids on a quonset hut, - furnishing of material and appurtenances for the - erection of same. Bids to be opened on October 21, 1946. MINUTES APPROVED JOHN PON'S REQUEST BE REFERRED TO THE CITY ENGINEER JOHN PON'S RE:UEST FOR INFORMATION RELATIVE TO ANNEXA- TION PROCEEDINGS EASEMENT FROM FRED G. .AND DOROTHY F. HUMESTON RESOLUTION NO. 203E ADOPTED RESOLUTION NO. 203' ADOPTED BIDS ON QUONSET HUT 436 CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, MONDAY, OCTOBER 71 1946. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm, Noes: None. Absent: None. The Agreement between the City of Azusa and the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic was presented. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer, the Mayor and City Clerk be author- ized and instructed to sign this AGREEMENT. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm, Noes: None. Absent: None. A contract between the City of Azusa and WILLIAMSON AND WILLIAMS, a copartnership was presented. Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer, the Mayor and City Clerk be author- ized and instructed to sign this contract on behalf of the City. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. Mr. Clyde Blanchard addressed Council relative to the Public Liability Policy. Council instructed Mr. Blanchard to write the Public Liability Policy with the Connecticut Indemnity Company for three years. A survey of all insurance carried by the City was discussed and it was agreed Mr. Blanchard make this survey and submit same to Council in the very near future. A 7:30 P.M. BLANCHARD TO '""RITE PUBLIC LIABILITY POT,ICY Councilman Malone reported, in his opinion, the City was not obligated in the matter of the request of Mr. COUNCILMAN MALONE Smith for a refund of $25.00 for the removal of a REPORTED O -N REMOVAI, pepper tree. OF PEPPER TREE Council accepted Councilman 11alone's recommendation. Councilman Memmesheimer offered an Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, REGULATING THE LOCATION, ERECTION, SANI- TATION, MAINTENANCE AND CONDUCT OF CAMP CARS AND/OR O =KANCE NO. 386 AUTO TRAILER CAMPS IN SAID CITY OF AZUSA AND PROVIDING ADOPTED A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF. to be placed on its second reading. This ordinance was then read. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman. Nasser, this ordinance be adopted as read and numbered Ordinance No. 386. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer,.Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman Nasser, the following requisitions be allowed: 2343- 2354 -2355 -2356 -2357 -LW 504 -505 -506 -507 -508 -509-510- 511-512-513-514-515-516-517-518-526-527-528-529-531. Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman Nasser, the following bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn upon the Treasury for the same.
