The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Nasser,
Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm, City
Attorney Miller and City Clerk. Absent: None. ROLL CALL
Each member present acknowledged receipt of a
written copy of the minutes of December 2,
1946. The Mayor asked if there were any objections
or corrections to said minutes. There being none,
the minutes of December 2, 1946, were approved as
' written.
Mr. Clyde Blanchard addressed Council relative to
a blanket insurance coverage of fire, lightning,
etc.
The Mayor appointed the Council as a Committee of
the Whole to check Mr. Blanchard►s survey and re-
port back at the next regular meeting of Council.
It was unanimously agreed the Mayor represent the
City at the annual meeting of the Azusa Citrus
Association.
Mr. Cornelius Smith, Secretary of the Azusa City
Planning Commission offered a report on the appli-
cation of Leonard W. Netzley and Verla'J. Netzley
to establish an auto trailer park, with the
recommendation that the zone variance be•granted-•
under' -certain conditions.
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded --by
Councilman_,Jumper.the zone variance be granted to
Leonard W. Netzley and Verla J. Netzley personally,
and„not - to their heirs or assigns for the con-
struction and operation of an Auto Trailer Camp
located at 146 South Azusa Avenue described as the
east 358 feet of the south 100 feet of the north
147 feet and the south 183 feet (extension of flood
control easement) of Subdivision No. 1 Azusa Land
and Water -Company portion of Lot 100_Block C, under
Ordinance No. 386 and any amendments thereto, pro-
vided all terms of said Ordinance be complied with
and ,in addition thereto that the setback of all
buildings and structures of the Trailer Camp herein
authorized be maintained at a minimum distance of
not less than 60 feet from the Easterly boundry of
Azusa Avenue as said boundry is now or may hereafter
be established.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer,
Malone, Lamm.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
The Superintendent of Water Department offered plans
and specifications f6r the proposed reconstruction
of and additions to water system,,for Council►s con-
sideration.
Councilman Malone offered a resolution entitled:
'A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
ADOPTING_PLANS, ESTIMATES AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE
PROPOSED RECONSTRUCTION OF AND ADDITIONS TO WATER
SYSTEM.

Memmesheimer, this resolution be'adopted as read and
numbered Resolution No. 2051. RESOLUTION NO. 2051
Carried by the following vote of the Council: ADOPTED
Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Meimmesheimer, Malone,
Lamm.
Noes: None. Absent: None.

The City Engineer presented a map of Tract No.
14638 for approval.

A Quitclaim Deed to "That portion of the Easterly
15 feet of Lot 38 of Tract No. 13790 in the City
of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of Calif- '
ornia, as per map recorded in Book 275, pages 46
and 47 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder
of said County from the southerly line of Foothill
Boulevard to the westerly prolongation of the
southerly line of Lot: -33 of the aforesaid Tract
13790," was offered

referred to City Attorney Miller to report back.
A communication from Wayne Allen, Chief Adminis-
trative Officer for Los Angeles County, relative
to an Agreement between the County and the City
pertaining to the hospitalization of city prisoners,
was read._
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by
Councilman Malone, this AGREEMENT be referred to
the City Attorney with instructions to write
Supervisor Smith a forecful letter objecting to

the provisions contained in the document.

Mr. Earl Messer requested an expression from
Council relative to a tax deeded lot described
as Lot 22, Block C, Azusa Heights Tract.
It was unanimously agreed the Clerk be instructed

to advise Mr. Messer that no action could be

taken in this matter until Mr. Bender returns.
Councilman Nasser reported on the matter of "City
of Azusa" signs to be erected on State Highway
66.
Mayor Lamm requested Councilman Nasser to make a

survey on the signs and to report later.
COUNCILMAN NASSER
Superintendent V. D. Smith reported on Simpson
Steel Company, Simpson Engineering Company and
Jumbo Manufacturing Company.
It was unanimously agreed the City Clerk be in-
structed to write the Omart Investm(n t Company
and express Council's appreciation for the OMART INVESTMENT COMPANY
Christmas trees given the City. DONATED 'XMAS TREES
TO CITY ,
