The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular adjourned session at the above time
and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Nasser,
Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm, City Attorney,
Tscharner and City Clerk.
The City Attorney announced that this is the time
set for the Hearing requested by Walter E. Meyer
on the matter of his suspension or dismissal from
the Police Department.
Present, Walter E. Meyer and his attorney, Alvin
H. Hahn.
The City Attorney then read the affidavits on which
the proceedings were based, namely the affidavits
of Grace Wade and Richard I. Wade, also the letter
signed by Milo T. Hawkins, Chief of Police, advising
Council that he had suspended Walter E. Meyer, a
letter signed by Walter E. Meyer asking that he be
granted a Hearing.
The Attorney then stated that Mr. Meyer appeared
before Council on May 9, 1947, the date set for the
Hearing, and requested Council to postpone the
Hearing until his Counsel could be present to
represent him.
Council, at that time, set May 25th as the date of
the Hearing.
Councilman Malone asked to be excused and left the
meeting because of illness.
Witnesses were examined and testimony given, both
on the part of the City and by Walter E. Meyer.
After testimony was closed, the Mayor then asked
what action Council wished to take in the matter.
Councilman Memmesheimer offered a Resolution

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, RESCINDING RESOLUTION RESOLUTION NO.
NO. 1982 AND DISCONTINUING THE EMPLOYMENT OF WALTER 2076 ADOPTED
E. MEYER AS POLICE OFFICER OF SAID CITY.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Nasser this resolution be adopted as read and
numbered Resolution No. 2076.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Malone.
.Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman
Nasser and duly carried Council adjourn.
