MONDAY, JUNE 21 1947. 7:30 P.M. 37 The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm, City Attorney Tscharner and ROLL CALL City Clerk. Absent: Councilmen: Nasser, Malone. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of the regular meet- ing of May 19, 1947 and the adjourned meeting of ' May 26, 1947. The Mayor asked if there were any MINUTES APPROVED objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none the minutes of May 19, 1947 and May 26, 1947 were approved as written. Rev.Benjamin Paroulek addressed Council relative to the adoption of an ordinance governing and REV. PAROULEK controlling the lighting in cocktail bars. ADDRESSED COUNCIL It was agreed this matter be taken under advisement. Mr. Ben Parker and H. D. Bess addressed Council relative to the condition of Coney Avenue and Fifth Street, stating that the Gas Company had left the street in poor repair after making gas BEN PARKER AND H.D. connections, that there were no street lights and BESS ADDRESSED that the heavy trucks of the Azusa Rock and Sand COUNCIL. Company travel over these streets at a dangerous rate of speed. It was unanimously agreed this matter be referred to Councilman Jumper and the Street Superintendent, with power to act. Mr. Herbert J. Taylor filed a written request to ' remove a tree from the parkway in front of his H.J.TAYLOR REQUESTEL property at 609 Soldano Ave. PERMISSION TO REMOVE TREE Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Memmesheimer this matter be referred to the Street Superintendent, with power to act. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmeaheimer, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Nasser, Malone. A communication, signed by Harry H. Owens, requesting informs"tion relative to the partly constructed two story building adjacent to lot H. H. OWNES RE - 42, Tract 8161, was offered. QUESTED INFORMATION RELATIVE TO GARAGE Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman Jumper this matter be referred to the City Attorney, to report back. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Nasser, Malone. The Pacific Electric Railway Company presented a RENEWAL OF LEASE on pole contact, location P. E. RENEAAL OF LEASE Right-of-way near Enid Ave. and Crescent Drive. REFERRED TO CITY ENGINEER Moved and carried this matter be referred to the City Engineer to report back. The Los Angeles County Health Department pre- sented the annual contract for.Health Services within the City. AUTHORIZED TO SIGN CONTRACT Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Memmesheimer the contract with the Los Angeles County Health Department be approved and the Mayor authorized to sign and the City Clerk to attest same. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Mayor Lamm this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 2090. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman Jumper the following requisitions be allowed: 2453-4459, 744-754 1%?.
