MONDAY, JUNE 29 1947. 7:30 P.M. the De Wayne Bros. exhibit in Azusa Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman Jumper the City Clerk be instructed to notify Mr. Tupper the Council cannot grant per- mission to exhibit in Azusa at this time. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Nasser, Malone. ' The Planning Commission offered a letter from the Nobell Resins Company requesting a re -zoning of a portion of Lots 11 and 12 of Sub.#2 Azusa Land and Water Co. from an R-1 Zone to an M-2 Zone, for the purpose of manufacturing bakelite type plastics, phenol and allied chemicals. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman Jumper this matter be referred back to the Planning Commission as it was not presented in proper form. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Nasser, Malone. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman Jumper the City Attorney be authorized and instructed to contact the Secretary of the Planning Commission and call his attention to the requirements set forth in Ordinance No. 342 whereby all requests for zone variances or re -zoning must be presented in proper legal form also that all recommendations from the Planning Commission must be signed by the members of the Commission who have ' taken action thereon. Moved and carried the City Clerk be instructed to write Councilman Malone expressing the members best wishes for a speedy recovery. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Memmesheimer the City Clerk advise Special Attorney, John F. Bender to start a quiet title action on Lot 1, Block 590 Map of Azusa, the right of redemption having been terminated on this property. Also that the Street Superintendent be instructed to connect this property with the sewer. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Nasser, Malone. Councilman Memmesheimer offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN TAX DEEDS FROM THE COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A WARRANT FOR THE PAYMENT THEREOF. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Memmesheimer this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 2077. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Nasser, Malone. Mr. Smith, Superintendent of Light Department, presented to Council copies of contracts between the City of Azusa and certain companies covering electrical services. The City Council of the City of Azusa met in Special Session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Nasser, ROLL CALL Memmesheimer, Lamm and City Clerk. Absent: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone and City Attorney. The following Notice was read and signed by all members present: June 5, 1947 WE, the undersigned members of the Azusa City Council do hereby call a SPECIAL MEETING of said Council and do hereby consent to the holding of such SPECIAL MEETING, same to be held at 5:30 P.M. this day in the regular Council Chambers of said City Council and for the purpose of acting upon the petition of Mr. William M. Councilman Memmesheimer offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING MRS. ETHEL E. KERSEY A ZONE VARIANCE TO ESTABLISH A NURSERY ON LOTS 31 AND 329 BLOCK 778 CITY OF AZUSA. Moved by Couhcilman Nasser, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 2091. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone.
