CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. MONDAY, AUGUST 11, 1947. 7:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular adjourned session at the above time
and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen; Jumper,
Memmesheimer, Lamm, City Attorney and City ROLL CALL
Clerk. Absent: Councilmen: Nasser, Malone.
Annette Durrell Sprague, L. Durrell Hughes and
Bernice Durrell presented a petition for a zone
' variance from an R-1 to a C-2 zone on the 19 ZONE VARIANCE GRANTED
acre tract more particularly described in
Resolution No. 2109.
The Planning Commission recommended this petition
be granted subject to certain reservations.
Councilman Jumper offered a resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORZING
AN EXCEPTION OR.VARIANCE UNDER SECTION 16 OF
ORDINANCE NO. 342 IN FAVOR OF ANNETTE DURRELL
SPRAGUE, L. DURRELL HUGHES, AND BERNICE DURRELL
APPLICABLE TO A PORTION OF LOTS 86 AND 87 OF SUB-
DIVISION NO. 2, AZUSA LAND AND WATER COMPANY IN
THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA,
SUBJECT HOWEVER TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS AND RESER-
VATIONS.
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by
Mayor Lamm this resolution be adopted as read
and numbered Resolution No. 2109.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen; Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Nasser, Malone.

ADOPTED
The City Clerk stated that bids for the purchase
of city owned property had been received, follow- SALE OF CITY OWNED
ing which it was moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, PROPERTY
seconded by Councilman Jumper and carried that
the bids be opened, examined and publicly declared.
Thereupon the bids were opened and read by John F.
Bender, Special City Attorney, and publicly declared.

person desiring to bid upon each of said parcels
of property and each and all of said bids, either
written or oral, were duly considered by the
Council and the following described offers,�for
City owned real property were duly and regularly
accepted, each of the accepted bids being the
highest bid received by the City, pursuant to
resolution numbers as hereafter shown.

awarded
to the former owner,
Mr. Collopy.
COLLOPY
Mr. McDougall bid $200.00 and the Southern
Finance Service Company bid $300.00 for Lot
5, Block 12. Due to the fact that neither
Bidder was the former owner and in the
opinion of Council said bid was not sufficient
considering the value of the property, it was
moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by
Councilman Memmesheimer Council reject all
bids on said lot.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm.
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilmen: Nasser and Malone.
Each and all of the hereinbefore mentioned
bids, except such bids as were accepted by
the City Council as hereinbefore set forth,
or an action taken by Council, were rejected
by the Council, and by common consent of the
Council, the City Clerk was authorized and
instructed to return to each of said above
named unsuccessful bidders, the deposit made
with each of said bids.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by
Mayor Lamm and duly carried Council adjourn.
