JOE CORNET, SENIOR With reference to Public Notice (8M) I herewith submit for your consideration a bid. of Seventy -Five Hundred Dollars (67500.00) ' on City Owned property described -as follows: "Lots 19 and 20, Block 29, Azusa as per Map Recorded in _Book 15, Page 93, Miscellaneous Records, in the office of County Recorder, Los Angeles." A Cashier's Check, in the amount of Eighteen Hundred Seventy -Five Dollars (1875.00), being 25% of the Bid price, as required, is attached hereto. John F. Bender asked for oral bids from any person desiring to bid upon each of said parcels of pro- perty stating that a policy of title insurance would be issued in each case. Each and all of said bids either oral or written were duly consider- ed by Council. Councilman Malone offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BID, TO CITY OWNED REAL PROPERTY. Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Council- man Memmesheimer this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 2144. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Council- man Memmesheimer Council reject all bids either oral or written on Lots 19 and 20, Block 29 and the City Clerk be authorized and instructed to return the check of the unsuccessful bidder. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent; None. The matter of an easement along Azusa Lane was presented to Council by Mr. Phillip Greig. RESOLUTION NO.2144 BIDS REJECTED � 4 1 CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. MONDAY, OCTOBER 20, 1947. 7:30 P.M The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call:. Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm, City Attorney Tscharner, Special Attorney Bender and City Clerk. Absent: None. ROLL CALL Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of the regular meet- ing of October 6th and the Special Meeting of October 9, 1947. The Mayor asked if there were ' any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of October 6th HINUTES APPROVED and October 9, 1947 were approved as written. The Clerk announced that two bids had been received under NOTICE NO. EIGHT M OF INTENTION TO SELL CITY OF AZUSA OWNED REAL PROPERTY AND INVIT- ING BIDS OR OFFERS THEREFOR. The matter of an easement along Azusa Lane was presented to Council by Mr. Phillip Greig. RESOLUTION NO.2144 BIDS REJECTED 7SaE7 CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. MONDAY, OCTOBER 209 1947. 7:30 P.M. Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Council- man Memmesheimer this matter be referred to the City Attorney to take up with the Realty Board of California for inspection of all improvements in the locality of what is known as "Azusa Lane's in the City of Azusa. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. A letter from the General Brewing Corporation, ' signed by Eugene S. Selvage, President, present- ing three proposals for the disposal of sewage and waste, from the proposed Brewery, was read. Mr. Carroll of the General Brewing Corporation was present and requested that Council meet with Mr. Selvage and others on Thursday to work out a suitable plan. Council agreed to meet with Mr. Selvage, Thursday, October 23 at 12:30 P�.M. Mr. Kressly, City Engineer, was instructed to contact Mr. Rawn of the Metropolitan Water District to secure an estimate of the cost to the City of their caring for the sewage waste material created by the General Brewing Corporation. Mayor Lamm asked if anyone present wished to dis- cuss with Council the sale of Tax Deeded Lots in Tract 8507. Mr. R. E. Clapp addressed Council. Mr. Bender, Special Attorney, called upon Mr. ' McAuloff, Mr. Johnson and Attorney Miller to express their opinions in the matter. After further discussion it was moved by Council- man Memmesheimer seconded by Councilman Malone this matter be referred to Special Attorney John F. Bender, and City Attorney Tscharner to hold a meet- ing with Mr. R. E. Clapp and other interested per- sons, also the attorneys be instructed to prepare escrow instructions relative to the sale of lots in Tract 8507 and submit same to the Council for their acceptance or rejection. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Memmesheimer that at the request of R. E. Clapp the City Council will not acquire the States Tax Deeds to tax delinquent property located in Tract 8507 until November 40 1947 and it is expressly understood Council may, if it desires, purchase the States Tax Deeds on November 4, 1947. Councilman Memmesheimer offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE -PURCHASE OF. CERTAIN TAX DEEDS FROM THE COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE_OF A WARRANT FOR -THE PAYMENT THEREOF. Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Council- man Nasser this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 2145. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm. Noes: None. ' The Planning Commission recommended that the petition for a zone variance from an R-1 to an M-2 zone offered by Assets Reconstruction Cor- poration, Ltd. be granted. Mr. George Trost addressed Council relative to REPORT ON RUBBISH the collection and burning of rubbish in the IN BUSINESS business district. DISTRICT No action taken in this matter. A request signed by four residents located in the ' south west portion of the City,for a meeting with CITY COUNCIL TO Council, department heads and the Superintendent MEET WITH of Schools, was presented by Walker C.
