MONDAY, DECEMBER 15, 1947. 7:30 1.011 The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Dickerson, Malone, City Attorney Tscharner, Special City Attorney John F. Bender and City Clerk. ROLL CALL Absent: None. The Clerk announced that three Bids had been received in answer to Notice Inviting Bids on a motor street sweeper. ' Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman Jumper the Bids be now opened, BIDS ON MOTOR examined and publicly declared. SWEEPER Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Dickerson, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Nasser, seconded by Coun- cilman Memmesheimer that all bids be now opened and publicly declared. Arnold addressed Council protesting the ' fee paid to J. F. Bender under his contract and the issuance of a Deed to Azusa Rock & Sand Company on tax deeded property located in Tract 8507. The Clerk announced that one written Bid had been received in connection with the sale of Lots 19 and 20, Block 29, City of Azusa. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman Jumper this Bid be now opened, examined and publicly declared. A RNOLD ADDRESSED COUNCIL ONE RID IN ANSWER TO NOTICE NO 6 The Undersigned, Azusa Rock & Sand Company, a corporation, hereby ' offers to purchase from the City of Azusa all that certain real property described in Notice No. Nine of Intention to"Sell City of Azusa Owned Real Property and Inviting Bids or Offers Therefor, said property being located in Tract 8507 as per Book 102, Pages 78 to 80 of Maps, Records of Los Angeles County. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Memmesheimer the Clerk be authorized and instructed to draw a demand on the General Fund in the amount of $27.50, made payable to the Azusa Chamber of Commerce and charge to Pro- motion and Advertising Fund. The Proposal for the Construction of a 20" cased well, submitted by A. L. Sonderegger, was presented. Geddes, State Senator, being present addressed Council offering his coopera- tion and assuring Council that when called upon, their problems would be given his personal attention. ' Mr. Phillip L. Greig addressed Council relative to the proposed subdivision located at the Southeast corner of First Street and Azusa Avenue, requesting Council to accept an ease- ment for the installation of power lines and water mains. The City Attorney, who was instructed at a previous meeting of Council,to contact the Realty Board of the State of California relative to a violation of the California Real Estate Law in connection with this proposed subdivi- sion, read a letter signed by Hubert B. Scudder, Commissioner of the State of California, Division of Real Estate, in which he advised the City Attorney that the evidence presented at this time is insufficient to constitute a violation.
