The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Dickerson, Malone, City Attorney Tscharner and City Clerk. ROLL CALL Absent: None. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of March 1, 1948. The Mayor asked if there were any objections ' or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of the meeting of March 1, 1948 were approved as written. MINUTES APPROVED Councilman Jumper offered an Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 342 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF SAID CITY, AND RECLASSIFING LOTS 5 AND 6, BLOCK 84, CITY OF AZUSA, ON THE APPLICATION OF NICK FEIDER. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman Dickerson Council waive the further reading of this ordinance. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Dickerson, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Memmesheimer this ordinance be adopted as read and numbered Ordinance No. 399. Councilman Dickerson offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ACCEPTING AN EASEMENT FROM OMART INVESTMENT COMPANY, LTD. A CORPORATION, AND AUTHORIZING THE SAME TO BE RECORDED. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Nasser this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 2196. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Dickerson, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. Mrs. Edith Dandy of 1041 Sunset Ave. requested the removal of trees and planting of elms. I"c It was unanimously agreed the trees would be replaced as soon as possible. Mrs. Thelma Bryant of 216 N. Angeleno Ave. offered a written application for employment. Moved and carried same be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Memmesheimer offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES•COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING TEE CITY ENGINEER TO PROCEED WITH THE PLANS FOR A MASTER PLAN OF THE ENTIRE CITY. Moved by Councilman Nasser, seconded by Council- man Dickerson this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 2197. Councilman Jumper offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING AND APPROVING SUPPLEMENTAL SERVICE AGREEMENT DATED MARCH 150 1948 BETWEEN THE CITY OF AZUSA, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF CALIFORNIA, AND THE RESOLUTION NO. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY, A CORPORATION, 2198 ADOPTED AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF AZUSA TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO ATTEST THE SAME. Kressly, City Engineer submitted a report on the bid of Westinghouse Electric Supply Company which bid was submitted to them for consideration at the meeting of Council held on ' the 1st day of March, 1948 and they recommended REPORT ON BID that Council accept that part of the bid referred to as 333 KVA distributing transformers, oil insulated, single phase, 60 cycle, Westinghouse type S., Class A., high voltage to be 12000 with 4-2 1/2% F.C.R.V. taps, low voltage to be 240x480 standard accessories, cover type high voltage bushings. Price -- $1759.80 Net Each and that all the rest of said bid be rejected and that the Council purchase the rejected portion of said bid in the open market. Councilman Dickerson requested that guard rails be erected to protect the entrance to the GUARD RAILS Building Inspector's office. REFERRED TO Street Superintendent Wolfe was instructed to ST. SUPT. erect the guard rails. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman Dickerson the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids on a 22. ton truck for the Street Department.
