The Azusa City Council met as a Board of Equalization at the above
time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Nasser, Memmesheimer, Malone,
Jumper, City Attorney and City Clerk.
Absent: Councilman Ortuno.
The Mayor announced that the Council was sitting as a Board of
Equalization and asked if anyone present wished to be heard.
Mr. Moyer being present addressed Council relative to the assessed
value of $40,000. placed upon the improvements on a portion of Lot
42 of Sub. #2 Azusa Land and Water Co.
Mayor Jumper advised Mr. Moyer that his protest would receive
consideration on the part of the Council and he would be notified
in ample time as to the action taken by the Board.
There being no further protests it was moved by Councilman Nasser,
seconded by Councilman Malone and duly carried the Board adjourn
to meet again on Monday, July 12, 1948 at 10:00 o'clock A.M.

The City Council of the City of Azusa met as a Board of Equalization
at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Nasser, Ortuno, Malone, Jumper,
City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman Memmesheimer.
Mr. Ballard, representing the Jumbo Steel Corporation, addressed
Council relative to the assessed value placed upon the unsecured
personal property owned by this corporation and located in Azusa.
Mr. Ballard claimed that the auditors for this company rendered a
statement that the inventory as of April 309 1948 was $161,317.36
and that the inventory as of March 1, 1948 was set up on thbir
records at'$3240951.00 in error. He therefor asked for an adjust-
ment of tax on the assessed valuation of the unsecured personal
property, as revised.
Moved by Councilman Nasser, seconded by Councilman Ortuno the assessed
value of the improvements on a portion of Lot 42, Sub #2 Azusa Land
and Water Co., assessed to Alexander and Selma Moyer, be equalized
and value placed at $30,000.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Ortuno, Malone, Jumper.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Memmesheimer.

application of Jumbo Steel Corporation for a reduction in assessed
value of personal property placed at $172,400., based on inventory
reported to City Assessor on March 6, 1948, be denied.

Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Memmesheimer.
Moved by Councilman Nasser, seconded by Councilman Ortuno and duly
carried the City Council sitting as a Boar d of Equalization adjourn
sine die.

Councilman Malone offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, SITTING AS A BOARD OF
EQUALIZATION FOR SAID CITY, APPROVING THE ASSESSMENT
ROLL OF SAID CITY AS EQUALIZED BY THE BOARD AND
DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO CERTIFY TO THE SAME.
Moved by Councilman Nasser, seconded by Councilmaq
Malone this resolution be adopted as read and
numbered Resolution No, 22401.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Ortuno, Malone, Jumper.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Memmesheimer.
