The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular adjourned session at the above time
and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Nasser, Ortuno,
Memmesheimer, Malone, Jumper, City Attorney Tscharner.
Absent: City Clerk.
Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written
copy of the minutes of September 7, 1948. The Mayor
asked if there were any objections or corrections MINUTES
to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of APPROVED
September 7, 1948 were approved as written.
A communication from the Planning Commission relative
to the zoning of property on Azusa Avenue leased by
C. K. War£ield and C. W. Thams, was read.
The City Attorney advised Mr. Warfield to present
plans and petition according to the requirements of
the Zoning Ordinance.
A communication from Rev. Jack Kiehl asking for
permission to use the Auditorium on Sunday and
Monday evenings, was read.
It was moved and carried that Rev. Kiehl make
application for use of the Auditorium each week,

Councilman Malone offered a Resolution entitled:
' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA ADOPTING SUPPLEMENTAL ANNUAL BUDGET SET
FORTH IN PROJECT STATEMENT TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE
DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE STATE OF CALIF-
ORNIA FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF GAS TAX REVENUE ON
CITY STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF AZUSA FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 1949.
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by
Councilman Ortuno this resolution be adopted as
read and numbered Resolution No. 2257.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Ortuno, Memmesheimer,
Malone, Jumper. Noes: None. Absent: None.
The Deputy City Clerk announced that one bid had
been received in answer to Notice Inviting Bids
on Poles.
Moved by Councilman Nasser, seconded by Council-
man Malone the bid be now opened, examined and
publicly declared.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Ortuno, Memmesheimer,
Malone, Jumper. Noes: None. Absent: None.

A petition with 14 names attached thereto request-
ing the City to pave the South one-half of Eighth
Street in the 500 Block, was presented by Mr.
Leo N. Clymer.
The Mayor advised Mr. Clymer that the paving will
be taken care of by the City.
A letter from T. L. Munson, Tax Collector advising
Council a duplicate payment had been accepted by
him on the property described as the N. 501 of the
S. 1001 of Lots 1 & 2 in Tract 13736 and requesting
a refund of $9.00 be authorized and payment made
to Mrs. Wm. Kaye Wyato.
Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman
Aemmesheimer that a demand be drawn in favor of
Mrs. Wm. Kaye Wyato in the amount of $9.0o for
refund of tax payment.

Councilman Malone offered a Resolution entitled:

RESOLUTION NO. 2057.
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by
Councilman Ortuno this resolution be adopted as
read and numbered Resolution No. 2259.

Malone, Jumper. Noes: None. Absent: None.
Councilman Nasser reported that he had received
numerous complaints on the chimes of the Ice
Cream Wagons.
The matter was discussed and referred to the
Chief of Police, with power to act.
Councilman Memmesheimer discussed the matter of
Military Police Reserve Training in Azusa.
It was agreed that Councilman Memmesheimer and
the Chief of Police check further into the
matter concerning an Agreement between the City
of Azusa and the State.
Moved by Councilman Nasser, seconded by Councilman
Memmesheimer the following requisitions be
allowed: 2648-2666.

Malone, Jumper. Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Nasser, seconded by Council-
man Memmesheimer the following bills be allowed
and warrants ordered drawn upon the Treasury
for the same.
