The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Nasser, Ortuno, Flannery, Malone, Memmeaheimer, City Attorney Tscharner and City Clerk. ROLL CALL Absent: None Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of February 6, 1950. The Mayor asked if ' there were any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of.February 6, 1950 were approved as written. y Councilman Nasser reported that the Committee recommend that all bids on-' gasoline be'rejected and Council re - advertise for bids. Moved•by Councilman Nasser, seconded by Councilman Ortuno all bids received for the City's annual supply of gasoline be rejected -and the City Clerk instructed to re -advertise for bids on gasoline to be opened March 20, 1950. Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman Nasser the bids be referred to Supt. V. D. Smith and City Engineer, Brooks for checking and report. Carried by the following vote of Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Ortuno, Flannery, Malone, Memmesheimer. ' Noes: None Absent: None MINUTES APPROVED GASOLINE BIDS BIDS ON VALVES AND REGULATORS 'A petition with twenty -five -.signatures attached thereto requesting the installation of signal lights at the intersection of San Gabriel Avenue and Foothill Blvd., was PETITION REQUESTING read. STREET SIGNALS Moved by Councilman Nasser, seconded by Councilman Flannery the petition be referred to'the City Attorney, also the City attorney be instructed to request, Carried by the following vote of Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Ortuno, Flannery, Malone, Memmesheimer. Noes: None Absent: None ' The City Clerk announced that five Bids had been received in answer to Notice Inviting Bids on valves and regulators. Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman Ortuno the bids be now opened, examined and publicly declared. Dawe's resignation as a member of the City Library Board, effective as of February b, 1950, was read. Moved by Councilman Nasser, seconded by Councilman Flannery this resignation be accepted and placed on file. Carried by the following vote of Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Ortuno, Flannery, Malone, Memmesheimer. Noes: None Absent: None Mayor Memmesheimer appointed Mr..Richard C. Payne to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. Dawe. Moved by Councilman Malone#;.,seconded by Councilman Ortuno that Council approve the action of the Mayor. Noes: None Absent: None Mrs. Gladys Alexander offered her resignation as a member of the Azusa Planning Commission. Moved by Councilman Nasser, seconded by Councilman Ortuno this resignation be Accepted and placed on file. Caldwell, Treasurer of the Azusa Retail Business Association enclosing a check for $579.50, the Azusa Merchant's contribution to the Christmas Decoration expense, was offered. Moved and carried same be placed on file and the money deposited in the General Fund. ' A communication from Randal F. Dickey, Chairman Assembly Air and Water.Pollution Committee, relative to "Notice of Public Hearings" was read. It was unanimously agreed that the Chief of Police attend the meetings on smog control.
