Present at roll call: Councilmen: Nasser, Ortuno, Flannery, Malone, Memmesheimer, City Attorney Tacharner and City Clerk, ROLL CALL Absent: None Supt. V. D. Smith also recommended that Council accept the bid of the Westinghouse Electric Company on regulators. Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman Nasser Council accept the re- commendation of V. D. Smith and the City Clerk be instructed to return the bid checks to the unsuccessful bidders. Carried by the following vote of Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Ortuno, Flannery, Malone, Memmesheimer, Noes: None Absent: None A report, by the members of the Park Commission, relative to the proposed REPORT BY MEMBERS plans for the swimming pool, was read. OF PARK COMMISSION Mr, Farley Beckett, Raymond Petracek, Mr. Farrell, Mr. Seilkof and others addressed remarks to Engineer Brooks relative to the proposed alterations PROPOSED ALTERATIONS and additions to the present pool. TO SWIMMING POOL Engineer Brooks stated that he would not recommend a diatomaceous earth filter on an experimental basis. It was unanimously agreed that the City Engineer prepare additional changes to CITY EO TNEER TO the plans under consideration and present MAKE CHANGES IN PLAN them to Council at a later date. Mayor Memmesheimer announced that the ' alteration of the old swimming pool was only the beginning of the swimming pool program, that in perhaps three years another pool will be constructed MAYOR MEMMESHEIMER and at the end of five years a third pool would be considered. Councilman Flannery reported that the windows were broken in the building in BROKEN WINDOWS the Memorial Park and suggested that they REPORTED be repaired. Supt. V. D. Smith reported on the bids for valves and regulators recommending REPORT ON BIDS that the bids of Rensselaer Valve Company ' and the bid of the Southern Pipe and Casing Company be accepted. Moved by Councilman Nasser, seconded by Councilman Flannery the bid of Rensselaer Valve Company and the bid of the Southern BIDS AWARDED Pipe and Casing Company be accepted and the City Clerk be authorized and instructed to return the bid checks to the unsuccessful bidders. Carried by the following vote of Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Nasser, Ortuno, Flannery, Malone, Memmesheimer. Noes: None Absent: None Supt. V. D.
