Present at roll call: Councilmen: Nasser, Flannery, Malone, Memmesheimer, City Attorney Tacharner, City Engineer Brooks, Street Supt. Wolfe and Deputy City Clerk. ROLL CALL Absent: Councilman Ortuno and City Clerk. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of March ' 6 and February 27th (Adjourned Meeting). Mayor Memmesheimer asked if there were.any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of March 6th and February 27th, 1950, were approved as written. A bid to paint the -flag pole in the Municipal Park was offered by C. B. Smith, 35 Nancy Street, Venice. Bid price - $15.00. Absent: Councilman Ortuno A communication relative to a 30 foot easement on the north side of Lot 55 of Subdivision #2, Azusa Land mid Water Co. signed by representatives of Structural 30 Ft. EASEYEdT Engineering Corporation, Stoner -Mudge REFERRED TO STREET Pacific Corporation, Azusa Transfer SUPERIETENDENT Company and Growers Chemical Supply Co., was read. , Moved sad carried that same be referred to Street Supt. A letter signed by Mrs. Lee Behrendt, President of the Girl Scout Association requesting the City Council to set aside REQUEST FOR BUILDiN a portion of the Memorial Park for a SITE FOR GIRL SCOUT girl scout building site, was read. HALL Moved by Mayor Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman Malone, this request be referred to Councilman Nasser with in- structions to contact Mrs. Pierce, 343 W. Second Street, for further in- formation, and to report back at the nest regular meeting. GEORGE MEIER The Deputy City Clerk announced that five bids had been received in answer to Notice Inviting Bids for the City's FIVE BIDS ON GASOLINE annual supply of gasoline. Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman Nasser that the bids be now opened, examined and publicly de- clared. White's petition re- questing that the property described as Lot 7, Block 33, City of Azusa, be changed from a °P° Zone to C-2 Zone and any use allowable.in a C-2 Zone be granted. Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman Flannery that Council accept the recommendation of the Planning Commission. Noes: None Absent: Councilman Ortuno The Azusa City Planning Commission presented a map of Subdivision #16687 with the recommendation that Deed Restrictions require residential lots bordering on the north side of Broadway ' Road have an entrance from the north rather than the south due to the fact that Broadway Road is a narrow street and on the north side of the street a gutter or water way leading into Little Dalton Wash would constitute a hazard. Leland S'. Poage addressed Council ob- jecting to the present plans as submitted to the Planning Commission. 7:30 339 P.M. RESOLUTION NO. 2388 ADOPTED DAN WHITE'S PETITION GRANTED TENTATIVE NAP OF SUBDIVISION NO. 16637 9OCAn CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, MONDAY, MARCH 20, 1950 Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman Nasser and duly carried that Council meet with all interested parties on March 27th to discuss this matter further. George Ott, Dr. Cook, Charles Davies, Mr. Al L. Smith and Mr. Leonard Gowdy and Dick Lindsey discussed the plans for tentative subdivision #16299. It was unanimously agreed to request Mr. Smith to submit a corrected map of the tentative subdivision for further dis- oussion on March 27th. A letter signed by Ralph S. Brooks, City Engineer, was presented to Council for consideration. No action was taken. 7:30 341 P.M. TENTATIVE MAP OF SUBDIVISION no.16298 City Engineer Brooks recommended that Council purehme from the former City Engineer, Paul E. Kressly, certain office CITY ENGINEER'S OFFIC1 equipment. The purchase price quoted EQUIPMENT by Mr. Kressly, 300.00. Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Mayor Memmesheimer that the City purchase from Mr. Kressly this office equipment and the City Clerk be directed to draw a check made payable to Mr. Kressly in the amount of $300.09.
