CORNEJO, CITY CLERK DATE: MARCH 19, 2018 SUBJECT: APPOINTMENTS TO FILL VACANCIES ON CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL PRESERVATION COMMISSION SUMMARY: The City conducted a recruitment to fill vacancies on the Cultural and Historical Preservation Commission. There are currently three (3) vacancies that need to be filled expiring September 30, 2022. This action approves Resolutions appointing individuals to serve on the Cultural and Historical Preservation Commission. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council take the following actions: 1) Adopt the following Resolutions: a)No. 2018-C25 re-appointing Stevie Heath to the Cultural and Historical Preservation Commission term expiring September 30, 2022. b) No. 2018-C26 appointing Michelle Pastrano to the Cultural and Historical Preservation Commission term expiring September 30, 2022. c)No. 2018-C27 appointing James Ramirez to the Cultural and Historical Preservation Commission term expiring September 30, 2022. DISCUSSION: In December 2017, the City opened the recruitment to fill three (3) vacancies on the Cultural and Historical Preservation Commission. The deadline to receive applications was January 11, 2018. The City Council extended this deadline to February 15, 2018. The City Clerk’s Office received a total of three (3) applicants including two (2) new applicants (Michelle Pastrano and James Ramirez) and one (1) incumbent (Stevie Heath). RESOLUTION NO. 2018-C25 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA RE- APPOINTING STEVIE HEATH TO THE CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL PRESERVATION COMMISSION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. STEVIE HEATH having been re-appointed to the Cultural and Historical Preservation Commission by the City Council, said appointment is hereby approved and Stevie Heath is re-appointed to the Cultural and Historical Preservation Commission for the term expiring September 30, 2022. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall transmit a certified copy thereof to STEVIE HEATH. Michelle Pastrano having been appointed to the Cultural and Historical Preservation Commission by the City Council, said appointment is hereby approved and Michelle Pastrano is appointed to the Cultural and Historical Preservation Commission for the term expiring September 30, 2022. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall transmit a certified copy thereof to Michelle Pastrano. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall transmit a certified copy thereof to James Ramirez.
