instructed to return all checks and bonds
submitted with bids to the unsuccessful
bidders.

A petition, signed by approximately 60%
of the property owners of property front-
ing on Azusa Avenue between Santa Fe Avenue
and Sixth Street for the construction of a
street lighting system, was offered.
Mr. Trailer and Mr. Taylor were present and
addressed Council concerning this improve-
ment.
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded
by Councilman Seltzer the petition be re-
ferred to the City Engineer and City Attorney
to ascertain the percentage of property owners
in favor of the improvement and to prepare
the necessary papers to institute proceed-
ings under the 1911 Street Improvement Act.

of a written copy of the minutes of
November 5, 1951. The Mayor asked if there
were any objections or corrections to said
minutes. There being none, the minutes of MINUTES APPROVED

The Clerk announced that five bids had been
received in answer to Notice Inviting Bids
on Plant -Mixed Surfacing.
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded
by Councilman Jackson the bids be now
opened, examined and publicly declared.

8507 to allow the erection of a 40 x 100
foot building to extend into a 25 foot
buffer strip on the west side of Irwindale
Avenue, with the provision they provide ample
parking as per Ordinance #409, Article #15,
Section #15.2. This variance to provide the
25 foot buffer strip fronting on their property
to be changed from a buffer zone to an M-2
zone.

Planning Commission be accepted.

to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation
of Stuart Giles.
Councilman Jackson stated that he was not
voting against Mr. Ayon but he felt that
there should be another woman on the Planning
Commission.
Councilman Memmesheimer stated that he was
voting "no" without prejudice, that he too
felt that another woman should serve on the
Commission.

that Mrs. Ben Cohn wished to deed to the
City certain water rights. The City Attorney
was authorized to prepare a resolution accept-
ing the deed from Mrs. Cohn.

ported he -found 54.8% of the property owners
on Coney -Avenue, Virginia Avenue, Third Street
