BUTZLAFF, ICMA-CM, CITY MANAGER FROM: DANIEL BOBADILLA, P.E., DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS/CITY ENGINEER DATE: APRIL 3, 2017 SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF FINAL PARCEL MAP NO. 73341 FOR THE AZUSA INTERMODAL TRANSIT CENTER SUMMARY: Construction of the Azusa Intermodal Transit Center was completed in December 2015, in time for the opening of the Gold Line extension passenger operations that commenced on March 5, 2016. The parking structure was constructed on four separate parcels. The proposed actions will tie all four parcels together by approving Final Parcel Map 73341. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council take the following actions: 1) Find that this project complies with the General Plan and is consistent with the approved tentative map and any amendments thereto; and 2) Find that this project is in compliance with the provisions of the Subdivision Map Act; and 3) Approve Final Parcel Map 73341; and 4) Authorize the City Clerk and City Treasurer to endorse the certificates on the face of the map, which embodies the approval of Final Tract Map 73341. DISCUSSION: In 2010, the City entered into Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with Foothill Transit and the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority (Authority) to construct the Azusa Intermodal Transit Center. Construction of the transit center was completed in December 2015. The project was built on four separate parcels; three owned by the City and one owned by the Authority. As part of the MOU with the Authority, a parcel of land approximately 20,000 square feet in area was APPROVED CITY COUNCIL Date: 4/3/2017 Final Parcel Map 73341 April 3, 2017 Page 2 conveyed to the City for the construction of the parking structure. The parcel map will tie all four parcels together and create a clean title for the Azusa Intermodal Transit Center. The final parcel map has been approved by the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works and certified by the Director of Public Works/City Engineer for conformance with the Subdivision Map Act, City Ordinances, and the approved tentative parcel map.
