TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL

DATE: JULY 18, 2016
SUBJECT: APPROVE EXTENSION OF TERM WITH CSG CONSULTANTS FOR AS NEEDED
OUTSIDE BUILDING PLAN CHECK AND INSPECTION SERVICES
SUMMARY:
On April 1, 2013, the City Council authorized the City Manager to enter into a Professional Services
Agreement (PSA) with CSG Consultants for as needed outside building plan check and inspection
services. The initial term of the PSA was for two years with three, one year extensions. On September
8, 2015, the City Council extended the PSA for one year. This action extends the term with CSG
Consultants for outside building plan check and inspection services for one additional year.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council take the following actions:
1)Approve extension of term with CSG Consultants for as needed outside building plan check and
inspection services for a one year, in an amount not to exceed $100,000.
2) Authorize the City Manager to execute all necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City
Attorney, to effectuate the extension of the term.
DISCUSSION:
On May1, 2013, the City entered into a PSA with CSG Consultants to provide building plan check
services. The initial agreement was for a two year period, with three, one year extensions. The
consultant has performed well during the initial two years. The PSA provides that the initial term can be
extended up to three one year terms. This would be the second extension of the agreement.

FISCAL IMPACT:

with this action as building plan check and inspection fees collected by the City cover the consultant’s costs.
