Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jackson, Ortuno, Seltzer,
Memmesheimer, Jones.
Noes: None Absent: None
Moved by Councilman Jackson, seconded by
Councilman Seltzer the following bills be
allowed and warrants ordered drawn upon the
Treasury for the same:
GENERAL FUND
4684 Ralph S. Brooks $751.19
4685 Friend's Fellowship Church 12.00
4687 Employees.Payroll Account 315.00
The City Clerk elect, Mae A. Hynes, took,
subscribed and filed the constitutional oath
of office as required by law.
The Council elect, Louis G. Memmesheimer and
Joe Hernandez, took, subscribed and filed
the constitutional oath of office, as required
by law.
The City Treasurer elect, Stephen E. Skidmore,
took, subscribed and filed the constitutional
oath of office as required by law.
The newly elected members were seated at the
council table.
' Roll Call: Councilmen: Jackson, Hernandez,
Seltzer, Memmesheimer, Jones, City Attorney
Snidow and City Clerk.
Moved by Councilman Seltzer, seconded by
Councilman Hernandez.that Councilman Jones be,
appointed temporary chairman for the election
of a mayor.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jackson, Hernandez,
Seltzer, Memmesheimer, Jones.
Noes: None Absent: None
Moved by Councilman Jackson, seconded by
Councilman Memmesheimer that Councilman
Hernandez be appointed Mayor of the City of
Azusa.
Councilman Hernandez declined the nomination
with thanks.
Councilman Hernandez nominated Karl J. Jones
for Mayor. Councilman Seltzer seconded this
motion.
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by
Councilman Hernandez that nominations be
closed.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jackson, Hernandez,
Seltzer, Memmesheimwp Jones.
Noes: None Absent: None
The following vote was recorded on the
nomination of Councilman Hernandez for Mayor:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jackson, Memmesheimer.
Noes: Councilmen: Hernandez, Seltzer, Jones.

TheCity Counc it of the City of Azusa met
in regular adjourned session at the above
time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Jackson,
Ortuno, Seltzer, Memmesheimer, Jones, City
Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: None ROLL CALL
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded
by Councilman Ortuno that Council proceed to
canvass the returns of the General Municipal
Election held in the City of Azusa on April
8, 1952•
Carried -by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jackson, Ortuno, Seltzer,
Memmesheimer, Jones.
Noes: None Absent: None
Upon completion of said canvass by the City
Councilmen, the Council declared elected to
the office of Council for the City of Azusa
Louis G. Memmesheimer and Joe Hernandez; for
the office of City Clerk, Mae A. Hynes; for
the office of City Treasurer, Stephen E.
Skidmore.
It appears that the whole number of votes cast
at said election was 2,458; that the names of
the persons for, the offices for which they
were voted and the number of votes given in
Consolidated "A" Precinct, Consolidated "B"
Precinct, Consolidated "C" Precinct, Con- .
solidated "D" Precinct and Consolidated "E"
Precinct to -each of said persons together _
with the whole number of votes which they
received in the entire City are as follows:

Thereupon Karl J. Jones was declared Mayor
of the City of Azusa and addressed members
of Council and interested persons present,
pledging his continued efforts and cooperation
toward the welfare of the city.
Moved by Councilman Seltzer, seconded by
Councilman Jackson and duly carried Council
adjourn.
