BUTZLAFF, ICMA-CM, CITY MANAGER FROM: MARIE MACIAS, INTERIM ASSISTANT CITY CLERK DATE: JANUARY 5, 2016 SUBJECT: RESOLUTION APPOINTING CHARLES (FRANK) ALLEN III TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION SUMMARY: The City Council met on December 8, 2015 to conduct interviews in order to fill an existing vacancy on the City’s Planning Commission. The City Council selected Charles (Frank) Allen III, who is currently a member of the Personnel Board. The recommended action approves Resolution No. 2016-C3 appointing Mr. Allen to serve on the Planning Commission. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action: 1) Adopt Resolution No. 2016-C3 appointing Charles (Frank) Allen III to the Planning Commission. DISCUSSION: In September 2015, the City opened the recruitment to fill one vacancy on the Planning Commission. The deadline date to receive applications was November 2, 2015. The City Clerk’s Office received a total of four applications. On December 8, 2015, the City Council interviewed the four applicants and selected Mr. Allen to serve a four-year term on the Planning Commission. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact associated with this item. Resolution appointing Charles “Frank” Allen to the Planning Commission ATTACHMENT 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2016-C3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA APPOINTING CHARLES (FRANK) ALLEN III TO SERVE A FOUR-YEAR TERM ON THE PLANNING COMMISSION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Charles (Frank) Allen III, is hereby appointed to the Planning Commission for a four-year term ending September 30, 2019. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall transmit a certified copy thereof to Charles (Frank) Allen III.
