Staff recommends that the purchase of 10 Personal Computers as configured in attached quote be awarded to Compaq Computer Corporation under CMAS agreement number 3-95-70-0110A Purchase price (including tax) is $ 9,255.38 for 10 P.C.'s, and award the purchase of 10 monitors to Jet Research in the amount of $1 ,569.63, total purchase of $10,825.01 . BACKGROUND The computers that are being used for training do not need to be as robust as the ones that sit on the desktop. They primarily run one application at a time during a training class.There fore we do not need to purchase a high end computer. The computers that are being purchased are a 500Mhz with a celeron processor, network ready and only 25% of the physical size of the PCS that are normally purchased. Therefore we can purchase 10 P.C.'s for just over $10,000. With the placement of computers and computer software the center will soon be ready to begin a long awaited training program. • a/ 6E/7/p FISCAL IMPACT d` 4-- The P.C.'s for this training room will be purchased from the technology fund.
