SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FROM THE CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY SERVICES
AND TECHNOLOGY ACT (LSTA) FOR “VETERANS CONNECT @ THE LIBRARY”
BACKGROUND:
The Azusa City Library has been awarded a grant in the amount of $5,750 from the California State
Library LSTA via the Pacific Library Partnership for “Veterans connect @ the Library”. This action
accepts this grant award and approves a corresponding budget amendment to incorporate the grant funds
into the current fiscal year budget.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends that the City Council take the following actions:
1)Accept the grant award from the California State Library LSTA; and
2)Approve necessary budget amendments and adjust the current fiscal year budget accordingly.
ANALYSIS:
The Library is the recipient of the California State Library LSTA grant. This grant provides funds to
develop the “Veterans Connect @ the Library” project. This is a statewide initiative. The special focus of
this project is to provide information and resources at the Library to help reintegrate California veterans
into the California workforce and our communities.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended actions; this grant will support the creation of
the “Veterans connect @ the Library” project. Upon Council acceptance of the grant, Finance staff will
amend the FY2018-19 budget consistent with the grant award amount.
