The meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by CALL TO ORDER
David Santellan, who also led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.
PRESENT: David Santellan, Rossana Helbert, Pam Mercado, and Joe Torres ROLL CALL
STAFF: Joe Jacobs, Director of Recreation &Family Services
Marc Gonzales, Recreation Superintendent-Program Operations
ABSENT: Condie Lopez
Minutes of July 2, 2009, were approved on a motion by Pam Mercado, seconded by Joe MINUTES APPROVED
Torres.
Consent calendar item #1-2, were approved with standard fees, conditions and/or CONSENT CALENDAR
modifications as noted on a motion by Joe Torres, seconded by David Santellan. ITEMS:
1. Request use of the Northside Park ball fields on September 13, 2009 from 8:00 AVILA NSPK BALL FIELDS
a.m. to 5:00 p.m. by Tommy Avila for softball tournament. 9/13
2. Request use of Woman's Club on September 29 from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. by MORTENSEN WOMAN'S
Debra Mortensen, HR for training. CLUB 9/29
Staff updated Commission on all programs and projects. STAFF UPDATE
Joe Torres announced he would not be at the August 20 Commission meeting. JOE TORRES
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m. ADJOURN
Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 6, 2009, at 5:30 p.m. at Memorial NEXT MEETING 8/6/09
