The meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission was called to order at 5:33 p.m. by CALL TO ORDER
Condie Lopez, also led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.
PRESENT: David Santellan, Joe Torres, Rossana Helbert and Condie Lopez ROLL CALL
STAFF: Joe Jacobs, Director of Recreation &Family Services
Roy Chavez, Recreation Superintendent-Parks Operations
Marc Gonzales, Recreation Superintendent-Program Operations
EXCUSED: Pam Mercado
Minutes of March 19, 2009, were approved on a motion by Condie Lopez, seconded by MINUTES APPROVED
Rossana Helbert.
Consent calendar item #1-7, were approved with standard fees, conditions and/or CONSENT CALENDAR
modifications as noted, on a motion by Pam Mercado, seconded by Condie Lopez. ITEMS:
1. Request use of the North Recreation Center on June 13, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to RUBIO NRC 6/13/09
12:00 a.m. by Efrain Rubio for a 15th birthday party.
2. Request use of Azusa Senior Center on April 18, 19, 25 and 26, 2009 from 9:00 HANEY SR. CENTER LIFE
a.m. to 1:00 p.m. by Karen Haney for lifeguard training class. GUARD TRAINING CLASS
3. Request use of the North Recreation Center on August 22, 2009 from 4:00 p.m.to ABASTA NRC BENEFIT
12:00 a.m. by Sally Abasta for a benefit sponsor dinner and dance. DINNER/DANCE 8/22
4. Request use of equipment (tables, chairs ez ups, podium &pa) on April 18, 2009 AVILA EQUIPMENT USE
from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. by Suzanne Avila for workshop. 3/28
5. Request use of Memorial Park on July 26, 2009 and July 25, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. BLAS MPK FIELD 7/26
to 3:00 p.m. by Blas Luna for baseball games.
Staff updated Commission on all programs and projects. STAFF UPDATE
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:25 p.m. ADJOURN
Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 16, 2009, at 5:30 p.m. at Memorial Park NEXT MEETING 4/16/09
