AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING
SECTION 19.50.030 (1) OF THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
EXEMPTIONS FOR SIGNS OF GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES
WHEREAS, the Azusa Municipal Code currently exempts many forms
of signs erected by governmental agencies which are regulatory
devices, required to be maintained by law or are flags or emblems
of a civic nature.
WHEREAS, temporary signs and attention-getting devices used to
announce Golden Days or official City activities are not exempted
from the requirements of the Azusa Sign Ordinance.
WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the importance of
these types of signs and devices in the successful promotion of
City events.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 19.50.030 (1) of Title 19 of the Azusa
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"19.50. 030 (1) Signs of a duly constituted governmental
body; including traffic or similar regulatory devices,
legal devices, or warnings at railroad crossings
temporary signs and other attention-getting devices;"
SECTION 2 . Pursuant to the California Environmental
Quality Act guidelines, a Negative Declaration, attached hereto as
Exhibit A, has been prepared and reviewed, finding that the
proposed project could not have a significant effect on the
environment. The City Council hereby certifies said Negative
Declaration.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective 30 days
after adoption. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this Ordinance; shall cause the same to be entered in
the book of original ordinances of said City; and shall cause the
same to be published or posted in the manner required by law.

1993 .

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance No. 93-01 was
regularly introduced and placed upon its first reading at a regular
meeting of the City Council on the 4th day of January
1993. That thereafter, said Ordinance was duly adopted and passed
at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 18th day of
January , 1993, by the following vote, to wit:
