HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 93-O17 ORDINANCE NO. 93-017 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING PREQUALIFICATION OF BIDDERS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW LIGHT AND POWER ADMINISTRATION BUILDING; SAID RESOLUTION TO BE ADOPTED AS AN URGENCY ORDINANCE PURSUANT TO SECTION 36937(b) OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS: In order to insure timely and acceptable construction of the projected new Light and Water administration building, which is which is critically needed due to the expansion of the Light and Water Department created by the recent acquisition of additional utility facilities, a procedure is hereby established in order to create a list of qualified contractors prior to final bid process, and WHEREAS: Upon review by the Project Administration of the prequalification packages received, those contractors who have satisfied the criteria for prequalification shall be invited to submit bids for the construction of said project, and WHEREAS: Contractors who have not satisfied the criteria for prequalification, will be notified and will be allowed an opportunity to rebut or respond to the reasons for not being found eligible. NOW, THEREFORE, The City Council of the City of Azusa does ordain as follows: SECTION 1 . A prequalification procedure for Bidders for the construction of projected new Light and Water Administration Building is hereby approved and established. SECTION 2. This Ordinance is adopted as an urgency measure in order to protect the public safety, health and welfare and shall take effect upon its adoption and shall remain in effect until January 1 , 1994. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law.
