The meeting was called to order at 5:10p.m. by Johnny Sanchez who also led the group CALL TO ORDER
in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Minutes of February 1, 2001 were approved. MINUTES APPROVED
Consent calendar items 1 and 2 and late additional items 3-8 were approved with CONSENT CALENDAR
standard fees, conditions, and or modifications to applications as noted: motioned by ITEMS:
Donna McCormick, seconded by Mary Sandlin.
1. Request use of P.A. system, March 9-10, 2001 for SGVMAA Basketball MARC-PA SYSTEM 3/9 &
Tournament at MPK, requested by Marc Gonzales, Recreation Coordinator. 3/10 BB TOURNAMENT
2. Request from Geneva Pruitt to use Northside Park and the use of a children's PRUITT NSPK 3/18 W/
inflatable jumper on 3-18-01 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. BOUNCER 10-5
3. Request use of the MPK Gym Mon. July 2, 2001 from 3-8 p.m. for Azusa MPK GYM-SUMMER BB
Recreation Summer Youth Basketball tryouts. TRYOUTS 7/2/01

6. Request from Azusa Pony Baseball to use room 4 from 12-3 p.m. on March 10, PONY BASEBALL ROOM
2001 for player draft. 4 3/10 12-3PM DRAFT
7. Request use of rooms 4 and 5 in MPK Recreation Center for Azusa Raider Football MPK ROOM 485 AZUSA
for physicals for participants, July 14, 01 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. RAIDERS PHYSICALS7/14
8. Request from Adrianne Brecera to use Northside Park and the use of a children's BRECERA NSPK-JUMPER
inflatable jumper on March 3, 01 from 12:30 - 5 p.m. 5/3 12:30-5 P.M.
Staff updated Commission on ongoing and upcoming Recreation activities and projects. STAFF UPDATE
Staff is to survey neighboring cities during the month of March with respect to facility
use, non resident groups and accompany fees. Information gathered will be presented
to Commission during April, 2001.
Other Business-Items of concern included lights out at Canyon Park and quality of trees
being planted throughout the City. Parks Division will update Commission on both items
at next meeting.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:52p.m. ADJOURN
Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 1, 2001, at 5:00 p.m. at the Memorial NEXT MEETING
