Randy Noriega led CALL TO ORDER the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. *ESENT: David Santellan, Johnny Sanchez, Condie Lopez, Mary Sandlin, Harry ROLL CALL Hoke, Joe Torres STAFF: Randy Noriega, Associate Director of Recreation and Parks Rich Rivera, Parks Supervisor Ross Montes, Senior Tree Trimmer Andy Trotter, West Coast Arborist EXCUSED: Donna McCormick Minutes of September 7,2000,were approved. Motioned by Joe Torres,seconded MINUTES APPROVED by David Santellan. Consent calendar item #1 and late agenda items #2-7 were approved with CONSENT CALENDAR standard fees and conditions. Motioned by Joe Torres, seconded by David ITEMS: Santellan. 1. Request from Azusa Golden Days Committee to use 12 EZ-ups, 20 tables, 40 AZUSA GOLDEN DAYS chairs, 5 games, BBQ and PA system for Free Family Festival on October 8th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 2. Request from Azusa Planning Division to use 20 tables, 150 chairs,2 EZ-ups,and AZUSA PLANNING ice tubs for Citizen's Congress on October 21St from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. DIVISION Request from Mario Eguez of Azusa to reserve Pioneer Park on October 14th from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for birthday party. MARIO EGUEZ 4. Request from Legion de Maria St. Frances of Rome to use City Park On September 24th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. for get together. LEGION DE MARIA ST. 5. Request from Carlos Hernandez of Azusa to use a children's bounce at FRANCES OF ROME Pioneer Park on September 30th from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. for a birthday CARLOS HERNANDEZ party. 6. Request from Murray School's Burke Hamilton to use a charcoal BBQ grill on October 27th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for school's Halloween carnival. MURRAY SCHOOL 7. Request from Bomber's baseball club of Southern California to use Gladstone Park ball field on 9/28, 10/5, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.for BOMBER'S BASEBALL practice. Mr.Andy Trotter,with West Coast Arborists, presented a proposed list of acceptable Urban Forest trees for consideration and approval by the Commission. After a short ANDY TROTTER, WCA presentation and discussion, the proposed pallet of trees was approved. Staff updated Commission on ongoing and upcoming Recreation activities. STAFF UPDATE With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:45 p.m. ADJOURN Kt meeting will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2000 at 5:00 p.m. at Memorial NEXT MTG. 10/5/00 Park Recreation Center.
