The -City Council of the City of Azusa met in
adjourned -session at the _above time and place.
Roll Call: Councilmen: Barry, Johnson, Memme-
sheimer, Jackson_
City Attorney, City Engineer, Clerk
Absent: Councilman Ortuno

Mayo3krJackson stated that after study of the request
of Superintendent of Streets for employing Emmett Butts
' as groundsman -gardener, he now withdrew his objection.
Moved by Councilman Barry, seconded by Councilman
Memmesheimer and unanimously carried, that City
Attorney be instructed to include the name of Emmett
Butts on•the same resolution -as that employing
Albert H. Moon as groundsman-garderner at Step 1
of the salary range, $243.00 per month.
Absent: Councilman Ortuno
Mayor Jackson announced that Mr. L, Frederick Pack
had been contacted and offered terms -and had agreed
to'serve as City Engineer for a temporary period of
time.
Councilman Memmesheimer offered the following
resolution entitled:

AZUSA,-LOS_ANGELES, COUNTY, CALIFORNIA APPOINTING
L. FREDERICK PACK. TEMPORARY ENGINEER.AND-,FIXING

Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman
Barry"and.unanimously carried, resolution_be adopted
as read and numbered Resolution No. 2955.

Councilman Johnson moved, seconded by Councilman Barry,
that resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution

Mr. Brooks repeated -his request that an"audit be made of
his books which he handled for the City. The Council Brooks requests
granted this request and the Clerk instructed to contact audit of his

Mr. -brooks explained that the description for easements
on Tehth-'Street (water run-off)'and the alley at Lee
School•had been submitted. He..also repeated that -he had
prediously- made'a field -check on the First and Pasadena
Avenue project and had prepared final -report for State
Highway Commission. He cannot sign the final inspection

vote of Council.

Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer,'-seconded by Councilman
Barry and carried unanimously, that Mr. Brooks be requested
to be in attendance at the Vehicle'Parking District hearing
to be held on the night of February -15th, 1954 -in an ad-' Brooks to be

Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman
Johnson that"bill for Frank Smythe Supply Company in the
amount of $2.06 be granted. Motion carried unanimously. Bill granted
City Attorney announced a Notice of a meetingt to -be held
Monday, February 8, 1954, at 11:00 A. M. Room 100, County
Engineering Building regarding Tract 19809.
Moved by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Barry,
that Chairman of Planning Commission and City Attorney shall
appear -at the meeting'on Tract 19809 in Los Angeles on Monday
Feb. 8th, 1954 and shall submit Council recommendations as
set forth in the minutes of meeting of February 1, 1954.
Motion carried by following vote"of Council:

NOES: Councilman Jackson
Absent: Councilman Ortuno
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman
Barry and unanimously carried, that Council adjourn meeting.
