The meeting was called to order at 5:04 p.m. by Chairperson Mary Sandlin. Condie CALL TO ORDER
-:ez led the Pledge of Allegiance.
PRESENT: David Santellan, Johnny Sanchez, Condie Lopez, Mary Sandlin, Harry ROLL CALL
Hoke, Joe Torres, Donna McCormick.
STAFF: Randy Noriega, Recreation Superintendent; Rich Rivera, Parks
Supervisor.
Minutes of May 20, 1999, were approved; motioned by Joe Torres, seconded by MINUTES APPROVED
David Santellan.
Consent calendar item #2,and late agenda items#3 through #7, were approved CONSENT CALENDAR
with standard fees and conditions. Item #1 was denied. Motioned by Harry Hoke, ITEMS:
seconded by Condie Lopez.
1. Request from New Harvest Christian Fellowship forSlauson Park on August 14, NEW HARVEST
1999, from 12 noon to 9:00 p.m. for community outreach (expected CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP
attendance 150).
2. Request from City of Azusa's Employee Social Committee to use 25 tables, AZUSA EMPLOYEE
200 chairs, 5 EZ-ups, and 2 BBQs, on June 23, 1999, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 SOCIAL COMMITTEE
p.m. for employee luncheon.
3. Request from Irene Santos to use moon bounce on Saturday, June 12, 1999, IRENE SANTOS
from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Memorial Park. Approved under condition
that moon bounce be rented from a company that has liability insurance
on file with the City.
4. Request from Azusa Elks 2038 to use Pioneer Park on August 8,from 7:00 a.m. AZUSA ELKS 2038
to 5:00 p.m. for Elks picnic. Estimated attendance 150-200 people.
5. Request from Azusa American Little League to use a moon bounce at AZUSA AMERICAN LITTLE
Zacatecas Park on June 26, 1999, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Approved LEAGUE
under the condition that the bounce be rented from a company that has
liability insurance on file with the City.
6. Request from Azusa American Little League to use one propane gas grill on AZUSA AMERICAN LITTLE
June 26, 1999, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for closing ceremony BBQ. LEAGUE
7. Request from 4th of July Parade Committee to use stage platforms, podium,
and 200 chairs for post parade activities on Sunday, July 4, 1999, from 8:00 4t`' OF JULY PARADE
a.m. to 2:00 p.m. COMMITTEE
Staff updated Commission on ongoing and upcoming Recreation activities. Staff STAFF REPORT
also provided answers to Mountain Cove project.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:02 p.m. ADJOURN
Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday,June 17, 1999,at 5:00 p.m.at the Memorial NEXT MEETING 6/17/99
