Chairperson Harry Hoke,who CALL TO ORDER D led the Pledge of Allegiance. PRESENT: David Santellan, Johnny Sanchez, Donna McCormick, Mary Sandlin, ROLL CALL Condie Lopez, Harry Hoke, Joe Torres OTHERS: Joe Jacobs, Recreation Superintendent Randy Noriega, Recreation Superintendent Joe Guarrera, past Director of Community Services ABSENT: None Minutes of December 3, 1998, were approved; motioned by Donna McCormick, MINUTES APPROVED seconded by Joe Torres. Consent calendar items #1 and supplementary consent items A, B, C, and D were CONSENT CALENDAR approved with standard fees and conditions; motioned by Condie Lopez, ITEMS APPROVED seconded by Johnny Sanchez. 1. Request from Recreation Division to use P.A. system on March 12, 1999, for REC. DIV. TO USE P.A. SGVMAA basketball tournament. A. Request from St. Frances of Rome cheerleading program to use mirrored ST. FRANCES TO USE classroom at Memorial Park for practice. Dates:Mon. 12/21/98, 1-3 p.m.;Tue. MIRRORED ROOM 12/22/98, 2-6 p.m.; Mon, 12/28/98, 1-3 p.m.; Tue. 12/29/98, 2-6 p.m. Request from Center Middle School 8"' grade basketball team to use CENTER TO USE GYM Memorial Park gym at Memorial Park during Christmas break for practice. Dates:Mon. 12/28/98,2:00 p.m.;Tue. 12/29/98, 1:00 p.m.;Wed. 12/30/98,3:00 p.m. C. Request from Azusa High School girls basketball to use Memorial Park gym for AZUSA HIGH TO USE practice 12/21-12/23/98 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. GYM D. Request from YWCA in West Covina to use mirrored classroom at Memorial Park for cheerleading classes on Tuesday afternoons beginning 1/19/99- YWCA TO USE 3/23/99. MIRRORED ROOM Staff updated Commission on Holiday activities and events. STAFF UPDATE With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:37 p.m. ADJOURN Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 7, 1999, at 5:00 p.m. at the NEXT MEETING 1/7/99 Memorial Park Recreation Center.
