led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.

It was noted that Mary Sandlin's Last name was incorrectly listed as Santellan. MINUTES CORRECTED
Mer a brief discussion, is was moved and seconded to approve the consent calendar as submitted. CONSENT CALENDAR
Motioned by Donna McCormick and seconded by David Santellan. Approved.
1. Request from Lee School to use Slauson Pool on 6/16/98 from I I:00 a.m.to I:00 p.m.for end of the LEE SCHOOL T USE
school year reward party. Approved with fees. SLAUSON POOL 6/16/98
2. Request from Bishop Amat High School to use Slauson Park Pool from February through May to
conduct their high school swim team program.Approved with fees. BISHOP AMAT
3. Request from the Way Foundation to use a meeting room at Memorial Park Recreation Center from
7:00-10:00 p.m. on Friday nights to conduct study and discussion sessions. Approved with fees. WAY FOUNDATION
Request from Azusa National Little League for use of Memorial Park Recreation Center lounge on
Sunday 2/8/98 from 12:00-4:00 p.m.to conduct league player draft selection meeting. Approve with AZ. NAT'L USE OF ROOM
standard conditions.
5. Request from Azusa Jr.All American Football to use a meeting room at the Memorial Park Recreation JAAF USE OF MEETING
Center on the 2nd Monday of each months starting on 2/9/98 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Approve with ROOM AT MEM. PARK
standard conditions.
6. Request from Family Resource Center Committee to use a meeting room on Wednesday afternoon FAMILY RESOURCE
from 3:00-5:00 at the Memorial Park Recreation Center. Approved with standard condition. CENTER COMMITTEE
Carolyn Crawford, Senior Center Manager discussed rental policy of the Senior Center with the SENIOR CENTER
Commission, Input was gathered for possible modifications to clean fee/Deposit. REVISED POLICY DISC.
Carolyn also displayed a name badge that was made for her and her staff by Police Department staff. Staff CITY BADGES
will make badges for city staff and Commissioners who request them.
Rich Rivera, Park Supervisor, discussed rental Policy and fees a propane pancake grills. Mer discussion, a DEPT.
possible modification to fee Deposit/charge on propane will be looked at. PROPANE/PANCAKE
GRILL FEE DISCUSSED
The Commission was updated by each Division Manager on upcoming events and activities. This was the
first time each Division Manager had given updates. It was enlighting and provided the Commission with DIVISION UPDATES
useful general information.
Randy Noriega, Recreation Superintendent updated the Commission on a written response to our COMMISSION RESPONSE
mmunity Development Department on the short comings and problems with the park plan on the TO ROSEDALE PROJECT
Rosedale project.

Randy informed the Commission that Joe Guarrera's retirement dinner would be on Friday, February 20, JOE GUARRERA'S
1998 at Mountain Meadow County Club. Invitations are going out. RETIREMENT DINNER

With there being no further business the meeting was adjoumed at 6:I 0 p.m. ADJOURN

The next meeting of the Azusa Parks and Recreation Commission will be February 5, 1998 at 5:00 p.m. NEXT. MEETING
