The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chairman, Jose Torres. Mary Sandlin CALL TO ORDER
led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.

OTHERS: Joe Guarrera, Community Services Director
ABSENT: Harry Hoke & Donna McCormick
The minutes of December 21, 1995 were approved as mailed. MINUTES APPROVED
Request from Azusa Pacific University to use all bleachers for annual "Night of APU USE OF
Champions" on March 22, 1996 was tabled on a motion by Mary Sandlin, seconded by BLEACHERS 3/22/96
Dave Santellan. More information is needed and proper request form to be submitted.
Question of fees and cost of manpower to transport were raised, and need to be
answered.
Request from Carrie Ceniceros to use 4 tables and 40 chairs was presented. It was CARRIE CENICEROS
moved by Jack Bean, seconded by Condie Lopez and unanimously approved.
Request from resident of 348 Orangecrest to remove a dead parkway tree was TREE REMOVED
presented. Park Department personnel verified tree is dead and should be removed. It 348 ORANGECREST
was moved by Mary Sandlin, seconded by Jack Bean and unanimously approved for
removal.
Question was raised as to why two Palm trees were removed in the 300 block of N. PALM TREES
Salton on east side of the street. Staff to investigate. 300 BLOCK DALTON
Staff gave a brief update on various department programs. PROGRAM UPDATE
Azusa will be hosting the annual C.P.R.S. District 13 Vendors' Day, Wednesday, January CPRS VENDORS'
17 at Slauson Pool. Commission members are encouraged to be there to help welcome DAY 1/17/96
our guests. Program opens at 11:00 a.m. with lunch at 12:00 p.m.
The Commission update to City Council is scheduled for April. Chairman Torres will be CITY COUNCIL
very busy the month of April. It is suggested we try to change to a later month. UPDATE
Joe Torres mentioned that the "Shopping for Kids" was featured in the latest issue of the SHOPPING FOR KIDS
Azusa Herald.
Question was raised about the Mission Chrysler/Jeep agency moving from Azusa. MISSION CHRYSLER
It was suggested that the city seriously consider relocating the Library to a new facility LIBRARY
adjacent to the new Utilities buildings.
Question was asked about the Conference. Director indicated that funds have been CPRS CONF.
temporarily frozen until details of Prop 62 are resolved.
Farmer's Market proposal was discussed. Members feel strongly that the City Park site FARMER'S MARKET
is ideal for the Farmer's Market; especially in light of the fantastic attendance the Rose
grade Float had in front of City Hall. A report will be presented at the January 16, 1996
'City Council meeting.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:55 p.m. ADJOURN
Next meeting scheduled for January 18, 1996, at the Memorial Park Recreation Center. NEXT MTG. 1/18/96
