David Santellan led the group in CALL TO ORDER the Pledge of Allegiance. PRESENT: Mary Sandlin,Joe Torres, Condie Lopez,Jack Bean, ROLL CALL David Santellan&Donna McCormick OTHERS: Joe Guarrera, Director Community Services Minutes were approved as corrected. David Santellan was excused from last meeting. MINUTES APPROVED Tabled request from Zacatecana Baseball League to use Memorial Park on Sundays was ZACATECANA considered. Discussion relative to policy of not scheduling facilities on Sundays to allow residents BASEBALL the opportunity to use City Parks followed. Also information requested was not complete.After discussion it was moved by Condie Lopez,seconded by Harry Hoke and unanimously carried to deny the request. Items 2-5 were approved on a single motion by Harry Hoke and seconded by David Santellan. 2. Request from Carrie Heidenrich to use Memorial Park Day Camp room on January 26, 1997, noon to 5:00 p.m.for baby shower. CARRJE HEIDENRJCH Recommendation: Approve 3. Request from SGVMAA to use gym and room 4 on Saturday, November 16, 1996, SGVMAA TO USE 10:00 a.m.to 3:00 p.m.for youth basketball official training. GYM 11/16/96 Recommendation: Approve 4. Request from Louette Gahnerto use a Moon Bounce at Memorial Park on Saturday, GAHNER/MOON November 9, 1996, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. BOUNCE 11/9/96 Recommendation: Approve 5. Request from Lydia Duenez to use a Moon Bounce at Memorial Park on Saturday, DUENEZ/MOON November 9, 1996, 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. BOUNCE 11/9/96 Recommendation: Approve Staff gave a brief overview of Departmental programs. DEPT. OVERVIEW Notification from City Clerk of appointment to the Parks and Recreation Commission along with DAVID SANTELLAN& resolutions was read: CONDIE LOPEZ RE-APPOINTED Resolution No.96-C 15 I David Santellan term ending June 30, 1999. Resolution No.96-C 150 Candelario Lopez term ending June 30, 1999. Mary Santellan noted that the Oak Trees along Pasadena Ave.adjacent to Gladstone park need OAK TREES ALONG to be trimmed to allow the street lights to properly illuminate the area. PASADENA Donna McCormick inquired as to the status of the picnic shelter at Gladstone. Staff to follow us. GLADSTONE PARK There being no further business,the meeting was adjoumed at 5:37 p.m. PICNIC SHELTERS ISI Next meeting scheduled for November 21, 1996, at the Memorial Park Recreation Center.
