Joe Guarrera led the group in the Pledge CALL TO ORDER of Allegiance PRESENT: Joe Ton-es, David Santellan, Donna McCormick, Condie Lopez,Harry Hoke,Jack Bean ROLL CALL OTHERS: Joe Guarrera, Director Community Services EXCUSED: Mary Sandlin The minutes were approved as mailed. MINUTES APPROVED hems I through 5 were approved on a single motion by Harry Hoke,seconded by Condie Lopez. 1. Request from Paramount School to use picnic area at Memorial Park on Friday,June 21, 1996 from ITEMS APPROVED 9:30 a.m.to I:15 p.m. Recommendation:Approve. 2. Request from Lee School to use Slauson Pool on Friday, September 13, 1996 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Recommendation:Approve with appropriate fees and conditions. 3. Request from the Valencia family to use Pioneer Park on Monday,August 26, 1996 from 10:00 a.m.to 7:00 p.m. Recommendation:Approve with usual conditions. 4. Request from Ad Hoc Tree Committee to have dying Crepe Myrtle tree at 339 N. Alameda removed and not replace due to space limitations. Recommendation:Approve. 5. Request from Martha Sena, Head Start,to use tables and chairs on Saturday,June 22, 1996 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Recommendation: Approve. Request from Angelica Alvarez to use Pioneer Park on Saturday,June 29, 1996, 12 noon to 8:00 p.m. for PIONEER PARK birthday party was considered. Motioned by Donna McCormick, seconded by David Santellan, and REQUEST unanimously carried to approve with usual conditions. Request from Azusa American Little League to use Slauson Pool on Sunday,June 30, 1996 from 4:30 to 6:30 SLAUSON POOL p.m. for end of season party was considered. Motioned by Harry Hoke,seconded by David Santellan,and REQUEST unanimously carried to approve with appropriate fees. Memo from City Clerk's Office listing members of boards and commissions whose terms expire on June 30, BOARD MEMBER TERMS 1996 was read. For the Park and Recreation Commission David Santellan and Condie Lopez terms are up TO EXPIRE along with Joe Torres who is appointed by the School District. Renewal application for California Association of Park&Recreation Commission and Board Members was RENEWAL APP. FOR presented. It was decided to hold action until after the appointments are made. CAPRCBM Copy of the Efficiency and Innovations Committee report was presented. Members were asked to review and EFF.&INNOVATIONS be prepared to discuss the recommendations at the July 10th Commission meeting. COMM. REPORT Staff reported that a citizen appeared before City Council suggesting that the pool be open for free swim. FREE SWIM `There being no further business,the meeting was adjourned at 5:3 I p.m. MEETING ADJOURNED
