The minutes of February 1, 1996 were approved as mailed. MINUTES APPROVED
Items 1 - 3 were approved on a single motion by Dave Santellan, seconded by Condie CONSENT
Lopez. CALENDAR
1. Request from Jr. All American Football•to use a meeting room on the 2nd Thursday JAAF
of each month for Board Meetings, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. ROOM USE
Recommendation: Approve
2. Request from Jr. A" American Ft Mball to use the ball field daily, Augus; to JAAF
December, 1996 for Footbal .,Id Cheerleader practice and games, 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 FIL.LD USE

3. Request from Azusa American Little League to use Memorial Park Northwest AMERICAN LITTLE
diamond on Saturday, February 17, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for try outs. LEAGUE
Recommendation: Approve.
Item-4 tabled request to have two parkway trees removed at 426 N. Pasadena. (2 ash trees) 426 N. PASADENA
was discussed. It was ultimately decided after a great deal of discussion, that the trees
should not be removed and on a motion by Mary Sandlin, seconded by Dave Santellan it
was agreed to have the tree roots pruned and the parkway leveled. Harry Hoke dissented.
Item 5, request from Mr. & Mrs. Ray Chavira, 1030 N. Alameda to have two Olive trees 1030 N. ALAMEDA
removed was discussed. Staff is recommending that they be removed and be transplanted
to a yet to be determined location. It was moved by Mary Sandlin, seconded by Dave
Santellan and unanimously approved to follow staff's recommendation.
Item 6, request from Mr. Garcia, 324 W. Ellsworth Street to have two trees planted to 324 W. ELLSWORTH
replace the two removed by the City. It was moved by Harry Hoke, seconded by Dave
Santellan and unanimously approved to replace two designated parkway trees at no charge.
Request from Knitting Guild of America to use a meeting room at the Senior Center on the KNITTING GUILD OF
4th Friday of the month, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. was discussed. It was moved by Harry Hoke, AMERICA
seconded by Mary Sandlin and unanimously approved.
Request from Cub Pack 414 to use bleachers on March 9, 1996 at Scout Hall was CUB PACK
presented. No action necessary as bleachers are not available due to size and special 414/BLEACHERS
equipment needed to transport.

1equest from Center Middle School to use the gym on Monday, February 19, 11:00-1:00 CENTER MIDDLE
`p.m. for practice to prepare for Junior High Tournament. It was moved by Harry Hoke, SCHOOUGYM
seconded by Condie Lopez and unanimously approved.
Louie Pedroza presented an idea for an Adhoc Committee for Tree City, U.S.A.. A formal TREE CITY, U.S.A.
presentation will be made at a future meeting.
Staff gave a brief overview of Department Programs. DEPT. PROGRAMS
Mary Sandlin inquired into the HVA/C system at the Senior Center. There was a problem SENIOR CENTER
the night of the Miss Azusa Reception in trying to get a balance. Staff to investigate. HVA/C
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:40 p.m. ADJOURN
Next meeting scheduled for March 7, 1996, at the Memorial Park Recreation Center. NEXT MTG. 3/7/96
