The meeting was called to order at 5:05 p.m. by Chairman, Jose Torres. Donna CALL TO ORDER
McCormick led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The minutes of January 18, 1996 were approved as mailed. MINUTES APPROVED
Items 1 - 3 were approved on a single motion by Dave Santellan, seconded by Mary CONSENT
Sandlin. CALENDAR
1. Request from the Legacy Group to use two meeting rooms at the Recreation LEGACY GROUP
Center on Friday, February 9, 1996, 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. for Focus Groups for
Hazardous Waste Awareness.
Recommendation: Approve with appropriate fees.
2. Request from City of Monrovia to use the Fun Jail on Saturday, April 20, 1996. MONROVIA/FUN
Recommendation: Approve with appropriate fees. JAIL
3. Request from Bishop Amat swim team to use Slauson Pool, February 12 to May
10, 1996, 3:00 to 5:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday for swim practice and three BISHOP AMAT
meets.
Recommenddation: Approve with appropriate fees.
Item approved request (10/19/95) from California Thunder Girls Softball Team to use THUNDER GIRLS
Northside Park ball fields for a tournament on February 10/11, 1996 with appropriate SOFTBALL TEAM
fees. The Tournament Director was given the cost estimate, he is now requesting a APPLICATION
reduction in fees. Staff is concerned since the team is from West Covina and no players WITHDRAWN
are from Azusa. (P.S. - they withdrew application).
Item 5 request to have two parkway trees removed at 426 N. Pasadena. (2 ash trees) 426 N. PASADENA
was tabled on a motion by Jack Bean, seconded by Dave Santellan.
Staff gave a brief update on current programs. PROGRAM UPDATE
The February issue of The Azusan has an article "Salute to Older American" regarding the OLDER AMERICAN
Annual Older American Recognition Day. RECOGNITION DAY
A second article "Have a Heart Light up the Field" announcing Azusa's American Little AMERICAN LL -
League fund raising effort for field lights and team sponsorships. LIGHTS
Staff gave a brief update on Department programs. DEPT. UPDATE
Members Condie Lopez, Dave Santellan and Mary Sandlin turned in their completed W-9 COMPLETED W-9'S
forms.
`'there being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:57 p.m. ADJOURN
Next meeting scheduled for February 15, 1996, at the Memorial Park Recreation Center. NEXT MTG.
