C. Roll Call: Sandlin, Hoke, Torres, Santellan, McCormick, Lopez, Sanchez
D. Approval of Minutes of September 3, 199 meeting.
E. Ceremonial/Public Participation
F. Consent
1. Request from Azusa Army National Guard to use 20 tables and 200 chairs for military
function at the guard station on October 3, 1998. This is an annual request that has
been granted in the past.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve, with National Guard staff to pick up and return
equipment.
2. Request from Blanca Cano to use a children's bounce at Slauson Park on September
16, 1998 from 12:00-5:00 p.m.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve with standard conditions.
3. Request from Arturo Cruz to use Pioneer Park N/E section for a birthday party on
September 26, 1998 from 2:00-7:00 p.m.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve with standard conditions.
4. Request from Catalina Pacific Concrete to use Northside Park ball field for a company
softball game on September 26, 1998 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve with standard conditions.
G. Informational
1. The Recreation Division is proposing a new community sponsorship program titled
"Adopt-A-Park/Activity Program". This new outreach program's goal is to recruit
corporations, companies, and groups to work in partnership with the Recreation
Division to help fund and or staff many of the ongoing or new activities conducted by
the Recreation Division.
2. Program update.
a. Recreation: Randy Noriega, Joe Jacobs
b. Parks: Rich Rivera
H. Public Hearings
I. Other Business: Commission members and/or Council liaison.
1 . The Azusa Parks and Recreation Commission customarily participates in the Azusa
Golden Days Parade and rides together as an entry. The parade is scheduled for
October 10, 1998. Who is available and wants to participate?
J. Next meeting, Thursday, October 1, 1998 at 5:00 p.m. at the Memorial Park Recreation
Office.
