The presentation was made on February 21 at the School and children brought in bags full of pennies which they have been collecting during the week. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff request to prepare a certificate of appreciation for Longfellow school to be presented at the May 3, 1997 Council Meeting. 4,00,(J# T /% .■ 729 North Dalton Avenue, Azusa, California 91702-2586 CONSENT CALENDAR M E M O TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS FROM: ROY BRUC I 4 .MMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR VIA: HENRY GARCIA, CITY ADMINISTRATOR DATE: MAY 19, 1997 SUBJECT: NO PARKING SIGNS ON PASADENA AVENUE FROM FIFTH STREET TO TENTH STREET FOR STREET SWEEPING PURPOSES ****************************************************************************** Currently, there exist "No Stopping" signs on Pasadena Avenue from First to Fifth Streets for sweeping purposes. The no stopping signs are from 8am to 12noon on Tuesdays for the west side of the street and on Wednesdays for the same period on the east side of Pasadena. We have received requests for the same type of signage on Pasadena from Fifth Street to Tenth Street so that the sweepers can clean up the street unhampered by parked cars. Staff has evaluated the request and determined that the current sweeping program can accommodate this request. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council approve the attached Resolution and order"No Parking" signs for Pasadena Avenue from 8am to 12noon,westside on Tuesdays and eastside on Wednesdays.
