SUBJECT: AZUSA GREENS GOLF COURSE (ERRANT GOLF BALL
MITIGATION)
The Community Improvement Manager has been following up on resident's complaints in the 1300
Blk. of Deborah Ave.,concerning the problem of errant golf balls hitting their homes. In conjunction
with this follow-up activity staff has remained in touch with the course operators and Mrs. Linda
Niemeyer, who headed up the residents effort to deal with the problem. Staff has also sent a letter
to all of the residents to determine how much of an improvement has been made in the errant golf ball
problem.
My discussions with Linda Niemeyer would indicate that changes to date at the golf course have
resulted in major reductions in the problem, and that in some instances several of the homes are no
longer being struck.
I have asked the course operators to arrange for additional monitoring once the changes are
completed and that another meeting with the residents be arranged to discuss any outstanding
problems or issues related to the errant ball issue.
At this point the residents appear to be extremely satisfied with improvements already made and both
parties appear satisfied with the City's involvement and efforts to date.
